How are they bad? Need more info. It would help with engagement
These were used panels... looks like alot of water was able to get into the part between the glass and pvs... corroded the traces until they burned through
Happy new years!
thx you !!! Hope this year is good for you
Happy New Year!
thx you
Hi and happy new year. Do you have to build a home out there where you are at in nv? Or can you indefinitely live in your rv/ or a yurt if one chose to do so with out any zoning or permits required? As I understand I would need a permit for a well drill and a septic.. are there any other legally required permits or zoning issues? Or can you basically build what you want? Also how are they about composting toilets? Thank you stay warm out there. 🎉
thxs for watching!... In Eureka county, only permits required are the Well and Septic... you can do anything you want from that point on. You can hual water in from the county provided points. The last I heard was it was $38 a month for upto 38000 gallons of water that you haul yourself. If you are thinking of going that route check with the county as to what the rates are now. If you don't put in a septic system then you will need a holding tank and have a company come in and remove the waste. or if you wanted a composting system.... as far as housing goes....anything goes but if you have issues it's your issues and not the counties;)
@@DirtyDogAcresthanks. Personally I think that sounds awesome. No one up in ur business. It’s like camping but on ur own property with all the bells and whistles that you can afford and the ability to just be content and build fix etc as you go and all the while you know where everything is and how it works. Not like a stick and bricks where if the plumbing goes all crazy you have to call folks to come fix it. If you do it you know how to fix it cuz you built it. We went to Walker lake beach this past week to have a family trip out there outside of Hawthorne in mineral county Nv not a soul out there it was so peaceful. Had a drown mouse in my grey dish water overnight won’t leave that out again grossed me out. Then when we were disassembling our storage tent aka bathroom there was a dead rat under it which I can only assume one of us crushed poor guy ha. We do love the dessert though even with all that. Nothing a few cats can’t take care of. Anyway thanks for your always quick replies have an amazing day week. And stay warm
It's very peaceful overall... We have two cats and almost everyday they catch a mouse or a desert rat.., although I have noticed their going in longer in between seeing them with a critter so I think 🤔 there doing there job LOL 😂....Not having the Gov. up in your business all the time is nice !
@@DirtyDogAcrespeace and no gov that is a win win
true story lol 😂
wish i had this money haha nice view
thxs for watching my adventures ;) I and my wife have done 98% of the work here, and that has really cut the cost. We saved and pinched penny's lol 😂... But honestly it's not cheap but if your willing to learn and work your backside real hard you can cut the cost by half 🌗 .. I had to wait until I retired to do it tho
I would be interested to know how deep the well drilling company had to drill?
nevada requires a minimum of 100ft. we hit really good water at 80ft. they wanted to stop at 120ft but I had them drill to 140ft.. 120 gallons a min on a 10 min test full pump out test...
@DirtyDogAcres That sounds like a great water supply. Congratulations...
thx you... so far really good
I just discovered your channel today. Just over 1 year ago I purchased 160+ acres near Unionville Nevada. It will be helpful to learn from fellow Nevadans as my family begins setting up our off grid future. I'm now subscribed... 😊
Thx you for watching... it's a learning experience for sure.. I moved to this land last April and my wife in June. I can honestly say we gave done it all except actually drilling the well. I installed the pump and everything else :) .. and if I can do it I think almost anyone else can too.. if you need help ask away
Nice
Thx you for watching
No one near you. Nice.
Use to be that way, but have neighbors now. Their good people so alls good... thx you watching
Modelo istabreeze,buen aparato
had to turn the brake on as the controller was getting to hot
Had two up and running (24v versions) for 3 years. Only had first failure a few days ago. Would'nt brake in high winds as slip ring shot. Otherwise, a tremendous generator. Disassembled and inside was like brand new. I run mine into a 12v battery bank which has yielded good results. Bearings are reasonably straightforward to change. Mine seemed fine apart from one of the vertical ( 6008 c3 type ) yaw bearings. SKF/FAG replacements are only a few pounds each so worth changing them while the machine is in bits. Thing to watch out for is the slip ring.
merry good to know, thxs for the tip, and for watching
Merry Christmas!!
thx you !!!. And we wish you a very Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas! That is one beautiful spot on this planet. Can't wait to get out that way again.
it's is a beautiful landscape.. if you get out this way let us know !
Enjoying watching you put this array up Guy. The wife and I are buying an off grid cabin off 139 and will probably be doing something on a much smaller scale. Hope all is well out there for you. W6SDZ
Hey Shannon.. kool deal for you !.. lots of hard work but really enjoying 😉.. I've got to do a better job on my videos, have been getting lazy with them.. hope all is well
North Eastern Nevada, God's Country!
It's a beautiful place
I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!
Thx you.. having fun doing it
My old days on packet not a lot in my area now Doncaster uk 🇬🇧 G1ILF 73s
It's starting to pick up in the states... I'm trying to accomplish running packet with out having to do all the kernel compiling.. Have figured out how to do which is so much easier.. thxs for watching
Radios have always fascinated me. The idea of sending data wirelessly using radio waves almost feels like magic. I would really love to get into this hobby, do you think a Sdr is a good start? I have basically no experience haha
It can be, there are cheap ones and there are really crazy priced ones... need to figure out first what you want to accomplish then buy what you need... where are you located ? Thxs for watching
@DirtyDogAcres Well for start, I'd like to just listen and observe the different bandwidths. I'm from Slovakia, a small country in Central Europe. I've been thinking about exploring the AM band here because not many radio stations use it and I've heard during the night you can receive the signal from very far away. As for my budget, I'm still just a high school student but I believe my parents could support me in this hobby. Additionally, I do not really need to broadcast my own radio signal, I just want to listen and observe. Thanks in advance for your reply. Simon
A good place to start and then work your way towards getting your amateur radio license... I think this SDR would be a good start, it has a very wide frequency range and theirs alot of software that will work with it. there much cheaper SDR's out there but I believe this is a good starting . www.amazon.com/Receiver-Sdrplay-Performance-1KHz%E2%80%912GHz-Shortwave/dp/B0C8MQ2K77/ref=sr_1_1?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.kq-KsFj0IHQxc_qSorTaxewlpvm4ZA9rDXpsSGPGwPawprJlbOnFsqaKcIa7ooa70dsQyomp8U6c4dkeW9MW3WAgRWwjt-ynF2T8MQnUtFJcASmSglksRang2T9lI98p3_KFM-dYiNFl4yFppNbSUoScICrscWVOgx20sznl6C1ueHrJ5eVr3h7Xzvv6QQGqY05-Kv23Z7sZ8YcTEHjiBnP65L3nST3rp5dtbVahQx0.jcwNJyqBZGMNhZjDXl_x112IDxjozzGGjQJiSdeuMwc&dib_tag=se&keywords=rsp1a&qid=1733668502&sr=8-1 thxs for watching
Need a bigger one looks like you got a lot of wind
it's 1.6kw peak.. I need to get another 10 feet higher
Sweet setup
thxs. A lot of hard hours invested but well worth it
Hi, how far are grocery stores from you
their is a small food store and a gas station with some food about 4 miles away, but for serious shopping we shop in Battle mt. 50 miles and elko about 70 miles away, that's one way for each town
Awsome, I will have chcikens soon, nothing like country life
we have 11 hens and a rooster, thxs for watching
Wow the view ,so majjestic
I find the high desert to be very beautiful, thx you for watching
You are very smart self sufficient❤
Well self sufficient anyways 😌 lol
Wow so windy ❤ it's beautiful there
Very ! Windy and 700 miles or so From home :(
Hi. Wishing you the best, I know what it feels like working hard to just have a place of mind.
It's so worth it,, this coming year we will add a 1 acre garden, dairy goats and a few pigs, and lots of fencing lol..
Jesse, we need to COOK
Cook what ?
How much power would you say you get with that a week?
To new to get a avg on it yet.. peak max is 1600 watts before it put on the brake... so last few days between 500 watts and a 1000 watts hour of power per day... Now with that said I only have it up 14ft. Granted the desert is pretty flat I believe it needs to go up another 10ft atleast
Oooh wee... look at it, go! A whole lotta birds out there with so few trees, i can see how they'd love the shed. That'll fix em.
The birds were trying to find a way in last evening.. Felt sorry for them 🤐 so going to build some bird houses..Man it was a whole flock not just a few birds either
@DirtyDogAcres I like the way you think.
thx you...need to protect my infrastructure, but can also provide for nature which we are a part of 🙃
now I see why you put them water lines so deep. as I was told watch and learn.
Lol 😀 I'm learning as I am doing.. I ask people who have been here a while and seemed to have there act together and ask lots of questions ...hopefully will keep me out of trouble...thxs for following my adventures
Come to the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺
Would love to , but to many projects here to complete 😆
Keep up the great work. Your videos are outstanding. We looked at property in Crescent Valley last year but didn't pull the trigger. Best of luck on your projects.
I'm actually 4 miles out of town :) it's funny , talking with my wife today about going out and working on projects that during the sumer months your out early and in winter your out later in the day when it warms up and then when the winds pickup 😀 lol thxs for watching my adventure
Whereabouts are you might be Nevada maybe might be Alberta range
Crescent Valley NV
thxs for watching
Little chilly out 😊
Just a might bit 🥶
I believe it’s a gopher snake. They can bite, but they are not poisonous. I could not see it extremely well, but it did not appear to have a rattle.
It was a desert bull snake... Molly didn't know what to think about it lol... only snake I have seen around here in half a year.. thxs for watching
@@DirtyDogAcres if you spend more time out there now then you have in the past, I believe you will see more of them around April or May. I don’t know much, but I have property like you do and that’s when I seem to see them.
we are here full time since last April.. Lots of akli in the soil. People I've talked to that's lived here for decades think that rattlesnakes don't like it, I'm sure hoping so lol 😂... the more we do around here the more we see wild critters..
Those mountains in the background look beautiful
it's very beautiful, in another month or so it will be an amazing sight to see...thx you for watching
You forgot to install wind…
LOL...yes just a bit 🤣🤣🤣
Right on! You did it. I hope it works out.
thxs for watching...still have a lot left to do, but overall I'm happy with it... I might raise it another 10ft but want to wait until I get a much better feel for the wind. It gets crazy windy at times
Must have been the angel of the camera because. Just because the bubble is between the lines it still has to be between the lines the same. But you got it close enough I guess
angle lol, was trying to not fall over at same time :) ..it's level doing about 900 watts right now in 26 mph wind
Good work, man. I dig it. Well, actually, you dug it. I look forward to seeing it doing its thing.
thxs might get it up today...
Muito bom quando coloca o gerador manda vídeo por favor
thxs for watching.. hopefully within the next few days I'll get it up
you talk to any Aliens?
I have wonder a time or two LOL 😂..I really enjoy making it all work
I've never fly fished, but I hope you get one. Beautiful creek.
thx you, love to fly fish...
@DirtyDogAcres did ya get any bites?
Actually caught a few nice large brook trout.. 3 pounders
@DirtyDogAcres wholly cow! Nice. Dinner will be good tonight, yeah?
Great Rig all the way around!! keep it going!!
thxs ...it works for us... very thankful to be able to get it
May have a contract with u one day on hf thanks for your videos from paul Doncaster uk 🇬🇧 (G1ILF)
very good.. I love digital modes on hf , thxs for watching
Do you need a special liscense to use the ham radio ? I thought I had heard something about a “broadcasting” liscense? Just so the Feds can control more things?
yes you need a Lic. the entry level lic. is called the technician class. I belive it is 35 questions. it's been over 30 years ago since I took that exam. I have a general class lic. Yes you know gov. always has there power grabbing hands in everything lol.. But it's better to learn the skills to do your own communications while not under a stressful situation then when bad things are happening:)
Putting skirting around the bottom will keep it a lot warmer
yes :) have to get the tie downs in place first... so much to do and so little weather time to do it in... thxs for watching
I am so excited to get out to my property in NE Nevada and slowly start my off grid homestead life. Watching your content keeps my spirits up, as I am caring for my senior parent (she refuses to move). Being an only child can really take a toll on ya, but, I get to take care of her ❤
It's hard in the situation you are in, but glad to hear that you are taking care of your mother !... where at in nv ?
@@DirtyDogAcres Thank you. The property is in NE Nevada, near Pilot Peak. It's beautiful 😍
Will have to look it up on a map ;) ..
Nice. Looking good.
thx you
Awesome Idea with the Repeater (KI7PIR)
thxs ;) lots of fun
Looks like you’re doing something similar to what we would like to do. We have owned a piece of land in Beryl Junction, Utah for several years but it’s time to start preparing it for our retirement. We have 20 acres with a septic power and a water well along with water, right Already on the property. We got a good deal because the property included a burnt down house. So we have a lot of cleanup to do. Where in the sagebrush surrounded by mountains similar to you. I have some young sons that are helping me. We only go up on weekends right now because we live in Las Vegas and I still work full-time. We just put up our first video on Wednesday. It’s on our fishing channel on UA-cam called FishinMoney.
sounds like a great idea :)... it's a lot of work, but so worth it. I hope you get to enjoy it as we are
