I was an instructor at the Outward Bound Mountain School, in Ullswater, in the Lakes District in England, 1958 and 1960. I also did a course at the Outward Bound Sea school in Aberdovey Wales, in September ,1959.. I made this video to show photographs and 8 mm film footage that I took on these occasions.

What a great Video. Being a current instructor at OB Ullswater for over 11 years, it is great to pick out the areas that we still use in similar ways. I also used to live in the boat house (which, unfortunately, we no longer own). I had the room that overlooked the lake and Hallin Fell. My canoe lived in the boat house which I would often use to get to Howtown, if I was working over that side of the lake. I wish we still made the canoes/kayaks before we put them on the water. That would be awesome for the young people we work with today. Thank you for making this video and sharing your experiences. It is wonderful to watch and has been shared across the Trust now.

The mask here is Tolai but the songs seemed typical of Sursurnga of South New Ireland.
