The point is given for who can rest (put the weapon on their shoulder) the fastest

You are allowed to “fence” with the weapon, but the point will only be allocated once you “reset” your weapon, in this case baton, to show you have control and it is not simply a wild/uncontrolled strike. Point is allocated to fastest reset, not fastest strike. Unfortunately students tend to start from this position as they forget they can use the weapon defensively as well.

​@@delicious_malicous okay but you still dont have to lunge forward with the weapon on your shoulder, as long as you return the weapon after a successful strike - it surely makes more sense to have the weapon between you and your opponent for multiple advantages.

All out War is the name of the tournament and “batons” is only one of the many modes that was presented. The headgear is mostly to protect the eyes, as you can end up with a “grass-burn” on your cornea. If you are interested in more action, check out the full-contact fight modes.

Thanks for the comment, unfortunately at this stage we are dependant on volunteers to assist and we are grateful for their assistance. Here you can see the execution of a good foot-sweep, jab combo. Showing the value of taking your opponent’s balance. Just unfortunate that it was not followed up with further techniques.

It may seem stupid at first, due to the protective gear. Come try it out. I assure you it is quite intense. It is a “semi-contact” take on a serious African tradition. The Zulu Nation is renowned for their great stick-fighting Warriors, but unfortunately not everyone is born an Impi Warrior. So this is a good way to introduce the sport to the world in a controlled and safe manner.

This is our latest edition to our weapon modes. African stick fighting, as seen in Denzel Washington’s Eraser 3. It a a truly African Martial, developed in Southern Africa and we intend to showcase it on the world stage. RCFA has added some safety equipment for participants safety and the games continuity.

This is RCFA’s version of African Stick fighting. Its origins arises from the Nguni herd boys in Southern Africa. We’ve attempted to keep the warrior spirit, but add some safety features, as those Zulu boys are fearless, bringing a truly African combat sport to the world stage. This item will also be hosted at our 2025 World Championships to be held in South Africa 🇿🇦

Good evening. We are struggling to follow your comment. Brian Ntiwane was crowned SA champ against the very same Alwyn Deetlefs, this was the “rematch”. Brian was unfortunately “knocked down” three times. In RCFA the “3-time-knock-down” rule applies. This was adopted to safeguard our fighters against brain damage and concussions. The fight was won by “K.O.” There is no more clearer decision than that, the judges scores are irrelevant. There could be no bias. If the match where decided on points the comment might have made sense if it was clearly biased. But as states a K.O. is decisive, no one can argue.
