Hi Aurora, I did this. My hair looked great something like yours, like a mini Siouxsie and the Banshees look but I immediately lost many chunks of hair and it took a whole year to grow back. I was kinda sad and I am scared to lose hair again. I did it again recently and I still lost hair. I wanna do it again without repeating the mistake and losing tufts of hair. What am I doing wrong? I only use hairspray later when the hair is up, not even using any hair gel. Could I have sprayed too much hair spray towards the end? But it wouldn't hold up throughout the night, no? I''m not sure, please help. Thanks. I did it to my husband's hair, his hair was kinda limpy throughout the night but he didn't lose any hair. I did the same technique. My hair kinda lacks volume too so even if I don't wanna go for a big look, I would like to be able to do this hair everyday without losing hair. Thanks!

Where was this kind of music all my life? I mean, I always loved Rock (I'm early 23) but wasn't into Metal almost at all, more of an Alt kind of person, Punk rock, Pop Punk and even since I officially started in 2020 to get into it, I just can't but I've discovered Goth music only this year and my god, this is diverse, atmospheric, romantic, suave, creepy, calm! I understand that Metal isn't for everyone (lots might not even be for me) but I am honestly confused on why this music doesn't have as many fans among Gen Z??? As someone who has two favourite music genres as Rock and Electronic stuff, this feels like a love-letter to me! Why so few only showed the fashion side of Goth or mix of Goth with Metal and new stuff but not this??? This is, I am sorry if I'm using the right word, but's fire rockin' dark flames of awesomeness! <3

Hi, i am 61, i was around when Goth, punk, and alternative identities were created/started to take shape and become a way one chooses to identify themselves. Those who identified as "Goth" were made up of people who repelled cliques (rules, organized set of beliefs, i.e.,religion), welcomed/accepted everyone, no rule book, made of people who shared the love of alternative music and were drawn to a darker/mysteries side of life/death. The current goth gate keepers, who decided not to include people they consider not to be goth enough, are the reason these varies sub cultures were started in the first place! No you do not need to like Goth music to be Goth!!

Does one have to listen to metal to be a metalhead? Why is goth different? Also a flaw with bringing clothing/fashion into the label is that it creates a MORE "gatekeepy" and vain community because instead of bonding over music, we judge the boundaries of our community through something as shallow as clothing! I was never interested in or even knew about goth music because all I had known goth to be was "pastel goth" and cheap target "spooky" decor... It was only until later when I discovered that it was a music genre that I fell in love and fell into "goth."

I consider myself darkly inclined. I've always worn black since I was young and been attracted to the Goth aesthetics and of course, the music. I've also dated Goth women and frequented the clubs in my younger days, but I never once labeled myself as "Goth" because I know somewhere out there is an elitist who's just waiting to piss & shit on someone like me. Best advice I can give you my dear, is do what you want, when you want, and as long as it makes you happy, fuck everyone else.

For those who want to know the TRUTH about our subculture, I would recommend looking up UA-camrs Angela Benedict and Madi Danger. Yes, you do have to be a fan of Goth music to be called a Goth, since that is the exact definition of the term. Can we still be friends with non-Goths? Of course, but Goth is music.
