Hi! I’m Jen and I’m obsessed by stationery, art and all things travel. I hope to share some of these things with you here.
Japanese stationery haul from Loft & Hands
On my recent trip to Japan I visited the stationery sections at Loft and Hands many, many times! I’m excited to show you what I got from these two stores, and even more excited to start using it all!
Loft and Hands are both large Japanese department stores which can be found all over Japan. They stock similar ranges of stationery but each time I visit them I always see something new.

In this video I talk about what I would buy again on my next trip to Japan (which is very soon!) and also highlight some items tha...
Creating a portable art gallery for my Traveler’s Notebook - journal with me
Переглядів 4212 місяці тому
When I see art that inspires me I will often take a photo of it and then never look at it again as it disappears in my phone’s camera roll 😓. Using the Traveler's Notebook Card File insert I have made my own portable art gallery, and I will show you how you can make one too! I have gone back through my photo archive and found images of artworks that I have admired over the years, now printed of...
My neat junk journal - quick journal with me!

Today we are doing a quick ‘journal with me’ with my very neat junk journal. 📔📰 Using a stamp shaped paper punch I have been collecting chads taken from the ephemera I accumulate in my daily life to then put very neatly into my Traveler’s Notebook. In this chatty video we will take a look at some of the pieces I’ve collected recently and do a quick layout 😊 Let me know if you have a junk journa...
Collecting stamps in Japan: Part 2 - Goshuin 御朱印
Переглядів 8403 місяці тому
On my last trip to Japan I found out about goshuin and how to collect them from shrines and temples. It is a great way to get more immersed in Japanese culture, and anyone can collect goshuin when they visit temples and shrines. In this video I talk about how you can do this too, and look through the goshuin I collected during my trip to Tokyo. There are some ways to prepare in advance, I recom...

Collecting eki stamps (train station stamps 🚉) during your trip to Japan is a fun and free souvenir! In this video I will show you all of the stamps I collected on my trip to Tokyo, and I will also talk about ways to plan ahead before you travel so you know where to find them. I used a Traveler’s Notebook passport refill to collect stamps on my trip, but you can use any paper or notebook that y...
Day out in Kew Gardens

In today’s video I take a trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London. If I have a free day on the weekend and the weather is nice and sunny, I’ll go to Kew Gardens to enjoy the greenhouses, flowers and listen to the birds sing. Come along with me for a day out visiting the wrought iron Victorian greenhouses, see some beautiful water lilies and cool off with some ice cream. A visit to Kew...
Solo Museum Date to Tate Britain

Hello! I'm Jen and today I'm taking you along with me on a solo museum date to Tate Britain in London. Whenever I'm feeling down I will go to one of the free museums in the city to revisit my favourite works of art. These museums usually have a permanent display of their collections, so you can go back over and over again and see the same artworks. I also went to the special exhibition, Sargent...

I received my Traveler’s Notebook TOKYO edition and wanted to share the unboxing with you! Let time know if you managed to get one of these notebooks and the accessories. #stationeryhaul #travelersnotebook #travelersnotebooktokyoedition
Loved the video!
Suce a great idea ! 😮 i love doing art exhibitions and that’s a cool way to keep track of pieces that spoke to you.
Thank you for the video. Definitely that leather notebook cover is in my purchase list when I visit in April.
This is a brilliant way to record memorable art/exhibits that I’ve seen in person!
Thank you for sharing this video! I remember getting lost there last August 2024 haha. It was fun tho. <3
So how do the inserts/refills go into the travel journal? Do you use stamps in the journal?
There is an elastic in the middle of the cover that you slide the refill under - you can see it here : tinyurl.com/8tcrds8b I use the connecting bands to have 3 refills in my cover at one time : www.tfa-onlineshop.com/SHOP/14333006.html
OMG! Thank you for this info on directions. I've been searching all over youtube for this kind of info and this is the first time I encountered one. Thank you! This is gold for someone like me planning to visit traveler's factory tokyo staton. Thank you!
@@alanapalomique2413 you’re welcome! I made it because I also couldn’t find any info before my first visit, and I see people complain about getting lost all the time 😊
I had such a hard time finding that location and I'm Japanese and have lived there. Its right outside of a gate so I think I paid twice 😭
Very informative and helpful video. I’ve been to Tokyo many times, but I didn’t know about the store. Thanks!❤
Purse charm
So I was in Japan this past November and I wanted to visit both Travelers Factory stores in Tokyo (the station and the original store in nakameguro) so I accidentally first typed the station and no joking I was going in circles for over an hour with hundreds of people going in all direction, didn't helped I forgot my pocket wifi at my hotel and relied on my phone data and gave me confusing information only for a staff member to tell me it was right behind me. thankfully I only waited 10 minutes before they opened and was their first customer of the day. I just bought some stickers and stuff I liked since I didn't understood the travelers note method but I absolutely loved the vibed of both places that are catered for the travelers heart.
Would love to see one of the Kyoto store! Thank you for this video ^-^
Kyoto store is wayyy easier to find. It's in a little shopping plaza outside the karasume-oike station. You'll see the ACE hotel, and then there will be a courtyard of shops on the side of the hotel. It's on the left inside the courtyard also (haha). It's not inside the station at all and Google maps will show you very easily without trouble. (It was the first thing I did in kyoto after breakfast!)
@@turdleyurtle ahh okay, would still love to see a tour of the sotre at some point ^-^ most I have seen don't show much of the store since they are always with their family so it tends to be videos just walking around with no focus on anything, plus they are kinda out dated. I loved getting to see all the stamps and the exclusives that you showed and knowing the prices was super helpful!
Unfortunately when I went to visit it we arrived IN the station so it was a lot of confusion on where exactly we needed to go. There were even jokes about how we paid to walk in circles. Thanks for sharing!
@@Elfmain the first time we tried (and failed) to find it we were actually just around the corner from the store before we gave up…it’s so confusing in there!
🍎 such a wholesome, sweet vlog
thank you 😊
Hello, Happy New Year! I am using A6 Hobonichi, TN standard size monthly and vertical planners.
I also had the same realisation that sometimes I'd get swept up in nice washis that were way too specific for that area/event/thing. Haha. Hope your trip was fun!
Thanks so much for the detailed directions. Im going in May and will be using your videos for some inspiration. Also, a weird side note....you have a perfect ASMR voice!
thank you! have a great trip 😊
Great directions to the store 👍 It’s lovely to see your haul of TN goods 😀
As well as collecting the station/tourist attraction stamps, I began to look on the streets everywhere for the manhole cover designs! Like the stamps the manhole covers all have their own unique designs, some were even colourful so that made it easier to spot!
I loved spotting the manhole covers, I tried to ask for the manhole cover cards but couldn't find any, too busy collecting everything else to really commit to them!
I took photos of them (I am sure some people must have wandered what I was up to, pointing my phone at the ground 😂) I have since printed these onto magnetic strips and displayed with my purchased magnets.
@ that’s a great idea!
My favourites are: the one with the December stamp, plus the cutout one from Mt Fuji 😊😊 You did well collecting all the Goshuin - I love the calligraphy! I only managed to get one during my first trip in 2018. I will be on the lookout in our upcoming trip in March! 😊
Enjoy your trip!
this such a clever idea!!! I am totally stealing it
I loved the video, but I didn’t see you talk about fountain pens, dip glas pens and inks😢. I guess I’d love to see this. Thanks
For the Goshuin you couldn't recall I used Google image translate and it said "Heaven." Maybe that's correct?
Join a pen pal group use your stash of washi to decorate envelopes!
I like the stamp punch so much I ordered one for myself! What a great idea
Those mini calendar they sell at muji in Sydney .
If you had not mentioned it, I would not have have seen the work Tokyo on the front-and I used to live there. Shame on me! Loved your videoed about the Traveler’s Notebook; never heard of it before. But I do collect goshuin.
I like this idea! 🥰 07:38 The Gloo is only blue when you apply it, it becomes transparent when it's dried.
I like the stamp punch, I'm going to give it a go. It'll be great for using on my ink samples. Thanks for sharing.
There are creative spreads you can still do with the washi tapes you're no longer interested in. Your spread doesn't always have to have a specific theme. It's nice to just have a collage of beautiful piece of art in your journal. I know the JetPens channel has a few videos that gives ideas on how to use up your remaining stationery. 😊
Good idea ! I have started a "junk" journal to keep tags, parking receipts... anything that tells my story that I just stick and add a few words, nothing fancy but I like sticking it in the stickers I don't like anymore or washi tapes, they make nice backgrounds and add pops of color in no time !
Thanks for this video! I wish you had a list of the products in the description!
I've added this now, thanks for watching 😊
Lovely video. You can label the ink pads on the side so you know straight away what colors they are. I always love playing with my label maker!
Such a fun video. Thank you. I love finding new stationery items. I added a few to my Christmas wishlist - specifically, the Penco clip and the Kept pencil case. I’m the same way - if I don’t see it, it doesn’t exist! 😅 New subscriber here. 😊
Thank you so much 😊
1:04 my guess is that’s for your finger to rest on (without touching the tacky part) if you ever have to hold it that way (like if you want a firmer grip over the tape, i can imagine) !! also super agree that the uni ball one pens are a joy; i HIGHLY suggest just getting them in 0.7mm since i find they give a much smoother writing experience than when they’re in smaller nib sizes. (though if you’re on the lookout for fineliners, maybe you would enjoy the uni emott fineliners?) anyway, very chill video 👍 nice to unwind to
@@avgrays thanks for recommending the emott fineliners, I haven’t seen them before so I will check them out!
Thank you! There's 2 in Akihabara for your next visit- found it by accident on the other side of the station from the one you have. (Nov 2024) Future travelers - bring an ink pad for both, you'll need it.
@@MissJackalope thanks for the tip, I’ll try to find it next time!
@@MissJackalope What’s the other stamp in Akihabara station?
May I know where's the information booth truck located in Arakurayama Sengen Park?
It’s on the same level as the Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, there’s the shrine on one side and the car park with this info booth truck on the other. There were also food stalls in the car park when we visited.
@ Alright, thanks for the info.
This is such a good idea! I immediately want to start doing this
“I like a lovely painted hand” 😊 Me, too! This is a wonderful amalgamation of memory keeping, common placing, and art journaling.
so lovely and such a wonderful way to keep art work that you have seen together with artwork you also enjoy. I so enjoyed your video, thank you for sharing. Subscribed to enjoy future videos.
thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it!
I love this so much! I’ve often thought of my journal as a portable museum or art gallery, this is such a beautiful and neat way of capturing the art you enjoy😍
@@GeorgiaJournals thank you ☺️
This is lovely! I collect postcard from museums and keep them in a photo book, like my personal museum
@@giuliabalbi8034 I have so many museum postcards too! It’s a great way to take some art home with you
Great idea!
@@MonochromaticMuse thank you 😊
Thank you for showing us this kind of "stamps" and also explaining how to collect them. Until this video I haven't consider to collect them because I'm to introvert to ask for these. But when it's possible to buy them, then I may collect them too, because I love these calligraphy.
@@senapus1241 thanks for watching! I’m really shy speaking Japanese and I found it easy to collect these, showing the book, paying and saying thank you is usually the whole interaction 😌
@@wanderandwrite Thank you. You give me courage. My little japanese language skill should be enough for this :)
Thank you for the website - I lost the links but now I save it again. It's really really helpful. Thank you for showing us your stamps.
@@senapus1241 I’m glad I was able to help you find it again, such a useful website 😊
I'm actually interested on your PASMO card. I thought that card is no longer on sale. Am i wrong? I'm going to Japan in April, and would like to get that book as well. Can i get that at the airport once i landed?
@@nejrolias Hi! I travelled in December 2023, Pasmo have since discontinued the Pasmo Passport so you can no longer get the Sanrio style card. The notebook I got from the Traveler’s Factory store at Narita Terminal 1, it’s the Tokyo Metro Passport Refill Notebook. I think it is usually in stock there and at the other Traveler’s Factory stores.
Thank you for such detailed information I have several shrines and temples in my itinerary and I want to also collect their stamps and I been learning so much prior to my trip in a month times
@@LetsExplore307 thanks for watching! I hope you have a great time on your trip!
@@wanderandwrite Quick questions if there a way to keep the lose goshuin they give that don't write directly into the book?
@LetsExplore307 you can glue them in, I use a glue tape so they lie flat, a glue stick might make the pages ripple
Thanks for sharing! Such a beautiful cover! I’m lusting after the Tokyo cover but haven’t bit the bullet at this stage haha 😝
Congratulations on your first YT video🎉 I have to wait until August for my charms and the postcard insert but this was a lovely video to watch, you have a beautiful calming voice and your lighting was just right to see the foiling details on the stickers and notebook. I also appreciated your desk setup with your Eric ST calendar and mini TN (I missed out on the mini - also fell down the TC rabbit hole 😂🫶🏽 Thank you for sharing your experience about your trip to Japan, I would love to see your photos/ journal flips and items purchased from your Japan trip (even if it’s not quite an “unboxing”. I believe the top icon on the notebook cover is Mount Fuji. I have subscribed and look forward to your other videos. Nice to find another Londoner here and maybe in future there may be an opportunity to meet and share a journaling experience together. I also have a fear of using the stickers so I ordered another set this time so I still have a spare set 🫣🤣Varsha 🖋📔🌸
