On March 5, 2024, the Academy hosted a remarkable webinar, *"A Conversation About Digital Rights with the Experts"*, which brought together three former Special Rapporteurs on Freedom of Expression of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights: Eduardo Bertoni, Catalina Botero, and Edison Lanza.
This engaging discussion explored the critical topic of human rights in digital environments, perfectly aligning with the theme of #IAMOOT2024. The panelists shared their vast experience and unique insights, shedding light on the challenges and opportunities of protecting rights in the digital age.
Eduardo Bertoni, now Director of the Human Rights Center at American University Washington College of Law; Catalina Botero, a co-chair of Facebook's Oversight Board; and Edison Lanza, Secretary of International Relations of the Government of Canelones, Uruguay, captivated the audience with their expertise.
The event showcased the Academy’s commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue and promoting the Inter-American Moot Court Competition. It was an inspiring and successful milestone in preparing participants and engaging the community in this year’s compelling case topic.
