As someone who has PTSD and BPD due to severe trauma.... yeah, it can be easy to lose yourself sometimes and try to gain some semblance of control over your life- even if it means acting a lot meaner and tougher than you are/than you feel.

I think it's because he sees it as a full role in society, not just sexual play. It's how you or he is seen by others and literally decides his fate.

@@saber8723 I haven't gotten past her romance all the way through, but from the responses you have, it sounds like you may be able to sway her toward another life because she's questioning her choices. Well you can also make her worse.

@@nyloth from what I have seen, she has 3 'paths' the Humility options are for a more compassionate (Iconoclast) version of her, distortion is her 'heretic' path, fanatic is for a more crazy version but still 'good' aka the dogmatic path, Synchronicity is how much she sees herself as a person vs being a weapon. Also, choosing Synchronicity leads to her true ending.

But does it impact the Nomos ending?

Pasqal's bath scene is more of a funny sketch than anything - he bathes fully dressed, leaks a puddle of oil for whatever reason (I guess it's the mecha version of a "pee in the pool" kind of situation) and the Rogue Trader is rightfully quite baffled. I guess that, since he is not romanceable (why, Owlcat! 💔), they thought that playing on his not-so-human-anymore behaviors was the only way this could go.

This feature is available to everyone outside of romance. It's not part of the romance. The behavior with and without romance is no different. This is the usual behavior of Marazhai.

@@monowired Uh huh, no. I think he does consider it “entertainment”. RT can call anyone to have fun. And all of the things Mara lists are entertainment for drukhari. If you refuse, of course he gets angry. But if you say yes, he enjoys feeding off your pain.

Жаль, что не прописали под роман уникальные реплики. Я кстати DLC начала с 4ой главы и не пожалела - у Маражая очень много уникальных реакций. Но опять же бесит, что роман не учитывается: он там дважды (!) говорит, как хочет сделать из Иокасты своего питомца и "одолжи мне её поиграться" :/ его флирт с Караэлем например происходит только если нет романа, а фразы про Иокасту ты получаешь вне зависимости от романа. Я пока меньше половины длс прошла, посмотрим что там дальше

@@dberryfrombogemia я играла со второго и почти никаких уникальных реакций от него не получила (сейчас 4 акт). Маражай всех называет питомцами, ну типа это название для раба... Он даже Хейнрикса так называет, так что мне не кажется это проблемой. Ведь при "сцене ревности" он упоминает об этом. Прикол в том, что до 5-го акта нетру роман, поэтому всего его реакции будут такими. Это конечно немного расстраивает. Я видела только 1 его реакт в месте где поезд и где обгорелый человек лежит. Ну типа... ничего особенного. + бартеры.

Что касается Инкасты... ну да, понятно, что он не видит в ней потенциального ром.партнера как в ГГ, но его реплики прям с сексуальным вайбом в её сторону. Как с Караэлем, да. Это кажется странным даже до тру-лава, ибо например для той же Саб роли он какой-то наглый даже по своим меркам😅 "а она занятная, имя_RT. Одолжи мне её поиграть после того, как разберёшься со своей ущемленной гордостью. Нам явно найдётся что...обсудить". Bruh. Если мы с кем-то спим на стороне, он говорит "ты хочешь оскорбить меня своим небрежением?". Хочется ему в моменте с Инкастой тот же вопрос задать)

Yeah, I have the same thing. Maybe it's a bug? You can bathe with everyone, it doesn't seem like a big deal.

I feel the same way you do. I just don't understand where this dynamic comes from, it was never in their relationship. And adding it after the ritual is also wild, too abrupt and doesn't make any sense. That said, I have nothing against the dynamic itself, I just don't like the way it's presented here. It's cheap and tasteless.

@@nyloth the point is that it wasn't, he is mimicking Cazador, the power plays, its how AA thinks he should act now that he is more powerful than Tav.

@@snusmumricken Look, it wasn't on release or even six months later. They added it FOR FANSERVICE, not because “it's correct for plot”. I implore you to study all of Astarion's kisses and animations before the ominous patch 6 that we didn't need. This was never planned if you read the game script. So yes they decided to add that because AA author apparently likes that dynamic. But she doesn't know anything about this dynamic or how to write it correctly. Also sorry, but we weren't kissed by Cazador (sadly) so we cant compare. We've known Cazador for two freaking seconds. There's not enough content for us, or our character, to be able to compare Astarion to Cazador. Everything we know is told from the mouths of questionable narrators.

@nyloth I have 5000 hours in the game. I bought it when it first came out in early access and the only time I didn't romance astarion is when I played as him. It just kinda sounds like you don't like the character? I and many other fans have been through abuse and I find AA being a bad Dom cathartic and in kine with many of my own experiences 🙃 But, I'm not trying to convince you to like it, everyone gets to have preferences

If you haven't realized in 5000 hours that this shouldn't happen, nothing seems to help anymore. Your problem is that you are a fan of it. You can't look at the character and plot with a neutral eye. You're right, I'm not a fan of Astarion, I'm just a player. So it's easier for me to analyze. I don't give Larian extra points because of “fan”. Also the bdsm dynamic and “dom” has nothing to do with abuse. Dominance itself is not abusive, please familiarize yourself with the bdsm base. The problem is that AA writer gets this dynamic wrong. Doesn't know how to write it. You want a good example? Marazhai. It's a 250% toxic relationship but it's a coolly written power dynamic in a relationship. Which is set up there in the beginning and lets you know what you're agreeing to. Astarion's power dynamic? Two seconds after the ritual? That's ridiculous. Honestly the entire RT fandom is ridiculing this shit on reddit. And stop using your personal experience as an argument, it's pathetic. I see Astarion fans going “oh I went through the same thing” all the time, please.... This is irrelevant to the conversation I don't care about your past.
