My best days salmon fishing so far, 5 Salmon hooked and 3 to the net! All fish released unfortunately I was only able to video 1 release due to an high bank and deep drop off pools and I didn't fancy a dunking, I did manage to video 1 being released as the bank had a small gap which I was able to get down. Lovely fish, just wondering do you spin for them at all ? Me and my mate haven't got fly fishing gear yet, from mid july to now we have been trying different rivers and a few lakes for brown trout, we have seen them with our own eyes either sitting in the pools or jumping out of the water, we havent had a single bite on the spinners, we have had a couple of follows and thats all. this time last year I was landing them back to back on the spinner. Mind you the water was quite a bit higher at that time, wondering if you'd have any idea what the problem/what we're doing wrong would be ?
@@kodiwtf hi I do spin for them after a flood or high water when it's not really suitable for a fly, if spinning wait until after a flood and try a mepp size 2 works good for me but can also be caught on size 3's, rapalas also work very well for them

@@grill_toast3355 there is parking in gilford town itself and can walk down to the river and also Banbridge AC have there stretch starting below Banbridge up Kate's bridge

River Finn. Lagan isn't fishing great this year fished it a few times this season but the fish are not in the numbers they were last year

What flies work up there
Diawl bach, pheasant tail nymphs, hares ear, sedges and damsel nymphs I've been hitting them on different flies on different days
