Ladies and Gentlemen,
We present the double album POLISH GENTLEMEN JAZZ - a compilation, an original selection of Marcin Jacobson, who picked the tracks from the records of the Soliton company and other friendly musicians of the Journalist.
The main idea of the compilation was the piano, so popular in this genre. However, soon we realized that we could not overlook songs for accordion, vibraphone, keyboard... Perhaps the name
of the albums "black and white" jazz would be more appropriate, but after the Polish Ladies Jazz Album we focused on gentlemen, and this is where the album’s title comes from. The albums feature very experienced piano players: Leszek Kułakowski, Wojciech Niedziela, Wojciech Konikiewicz, Bogdan Hołownia, Jarek Małys (one of the leading Polish jazz pianists, who died suddenly
on December 29, 2023), Wojtek Puszek, Przemek Raminiak, Dominik Kisiel as well as representatives of the younger generation Michał Ciesielski, Piotr Matusik, Michael Kornas, Dominik Wania, Ignacy Jan Wiśniewski, Jan Jarecki, Jan Rejnowicz, Jakub Hajdun. In compositions with accordion we will hear Paweł A. Nowak, Cezary Paciorek (also on piano), and with vibraphone the outstanding virtuoso Dominik Bukowski. The above-mentioned artists are leaders of their own bands or present their skills in groups of leading Polish artists such as: Maciej Strzelczyk and Friends, Adam Wendt & Friends,
Piotr Rodowicz and Friends, Göran Larsen Group, Piotr Lemańczyk Trio, JAH Trio, Krzysztof Puma Piasecki Group, Marcin Gawdzis Quartet, Ad Shave, Almost Jazz Group, Alone Together Quartet, Quartado. Thanks to such a variety of music and compositions, an album was created
that we can listen to with interest in any circumstances.
