Great to see the city moving forward, & excited to see these changes!
I can not wait to visit the museum!
Great video. I am very proud to have an opportunity to witness this transformation in Birmingham!
if I was the mayor of Birmingham 80% of those vacant building will be rebuilt or revitalize....
about time Birmingham moving on up it still got a long way to go if you trying to compare it to other cities.. such as Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, Manhattan.
Hello grandad
From Philly, Birmingham will be will be a great city again!
205 vs 0121

Magic City Baby #BIRMINGHAM #Metro. watch out Atlanta an Nashville. BIRMINGHAM COMING.
I want to thank everyone at the Southern Museum of Flight I really enjoyed my visit there it was educational and inspirational and thank you for your hospitality I really enjoyed my visit it was kind of short-lived because I had a full day in Birmingham and i had return back home to Atlanta that same evening so,my time was very limited, I did enjoy my stay and I shall return very soon I was at visit your Museum a week ago and I really had a great time.
visit my beautiful city
0121 is way better
You play destiny?
JangmO-O yes
BIRMINGHAM WILL BE BETTER CHOICE THEN ATLANTA IN THE LONG RUN , ITS WELL ON ITS WAY NOW. THE CITY IS HUGE AN THE METRO IS SPRAWLING LARGER WITH GROWTH ALSO.
Better than Atlanta? lmao get out of here, there's more people living in Atlanta than the entire state of Alabama. Birmingham is irrelevant
You guys are just getting industry workers, in other words your teaching people to have bosses and always be dependent on a job for financial stability. Smh
I was there and I did not catch any of this over the applause, so thanks for uploading the footage.

True, he likes the US where people are able to show their affection unlike European have "Berührungsängste" :D
I'm proud of birmingham but we need more things to do here
Mayor Bell paid a visit to UAB students at the school of business today to talk about the Sixteenth Street Church bombing in 1963 and the Civil Rights Movement.
I remember this day i was in 5th grade, i was sitting on the bleachers, so happy you bring good memories, i miss that school. 3 :'(
SHUT UP!! Martin Luther was a known bigot and a liar!! Stop living in the past folks and own your own actions and stop looking for us to pay your bills!!
I can tell... William Bell must have been frightened to be seen on CNN.
God Bless Our City. It's not just a dream getting this far.. It's a accomplishment.
Yes this is true! I hope to see Birmingham to become just like any other Major City! Slowly we are getting there, but it takes a steady council and the funding!
We have come so far. SO FAR. Let's keep raising the bar. Meanwhile, a collective hug to all of my fellow "hamsters". I still believe in Magic. happy to live in the "magic city".
Birmingham is really threiving from Railroad park to the newe Baron stadium downtown. Public transportation is also improving with the moneying awarded for new buses to the new central station about begin construction. The entertainment district is really great. All areas of birmingham are doing good from AC Roper with the prayer walks to the 50 years forward celebrations and the schools improving their image.
great video! Birmingham is an awesome place to live and I love being a part of this time with the city is making a new name for itself and erasing the images of the past. I am very proud of our city and especially proud of Birmingham Police Chief Roper for his bringing all the community together, including suburban cities to pray over areas of town with higher crime - resulting in crime rates drastically falling all over the city!
My comment was "high MOST everywhere." But still down from previous years. Many of those homicides were committed inside the home and not on the street. Poverty & drugs crimes also attribute to crime stats. Again, fact is, even according to your stats, we are #25, which does not make us the worse as you are suggesting. It means Birmingham is again moving in a direction to become a model city. It takes time and things are being done to make that happen. Miracles do happen, but take time.

We ARE an All American City. We have had our struggles - and still do and always will. BUT ... I look around and see excited people here in the City, a booming healthcare industry, an energetic downtown - and a great place to live and work. We just have to choose what to focus on. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a giant step forward in Birmingham: take the ALDOT project to tear down, rebuild, and widen the downtown I-59/20 expressway and instead, turn the land into a park. It would turn downtown from a place people avoid to a place want to be. When downtown thrives, the region and state thrives too.
