George Whitten Elementary School won a 2023 Golden Apple Teacher Grant for the "Water The Sprout" project. The Hendersonville Chamber Foundation got to check in on the winner and see the impact the project made on the students.
The Golden Apple grant program was created to promote K-12 education in the greater Hendersonville area. Since 2010, the program has awarded over $400,000 in grant funds to help address school needs and to develop creative new programs that enhance the student learning experience. The grants are funded through a combination of personal and business donations, advertising sales and events.
