Chapter 11 of part one, in 1894 Doha rebellion caused the 1st Sino-Japanese war. It ended 500 year of Chinese dominance over Chosen. Japanese control began.

Both Coupe by Heungsun in 1882 and by radical progressives in 1884 were put down by Qing force. Chosen was under Qing’s direct control for 10 years until Qing was defeated by Japan in 1894.
