Building a CAMERA RIG
Переглядів 1 тис.Рік тому
In this video, I break down my camera rig and give a description of each item. A couple notes: I called the 12" rods "nato rails" by accident lol. The v-mount battery life is around 14 hours. The "base" I referred to is technically a quick-release base. It basically allows you to loosen the base of the rig and detach it from the rails and v-mount battery for a lighter setup. Phantom LUTs Comparison
Переглядів 3,5 тис.Рік тому
If you've been considering buying the Phantom LUTs, here's a visual comparison of how they look. I've found them to be a very effective tool in color grading, especially if you have a project with a tight turnaround. The LUTS were created by Joel Famularo and can be purchased on his website at www.joelfamularo.com/colour.

This was actually pretty helpful. Please keep sharing more. I can't wait to see how your channel grows. :)
I’m glad it helped! Stay tuned 😊
This is something genuine
Thanks for sharing! 😊
Did you have a pro mist filter on ?
I might’ve had a cinebloom 10% filter on but I honestly don’t remember. I don’t have a pro mist filter, but I just picked up the shimmer diffusion 1 filter from K&F and I love it.
@@virgilwardmedia I get it, thanks man
What camera and lens was that
Sony A7SIII with the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8!
@@virgilwardmedia I use A7C do you think the kit will work as good as?
Yup! Here's the site with the LUTs for your camera www.joelfamularo.com/colour-a7s3. You'll actually use the same exact LUTs that I have for your A7C.
Love seeing this!!!
What do these do??
These LUTs give your LOG footage a certain look with respect to colors and contrast. Using LUTs makes the color grading process easier. Think of it like a filter applied to a photo, except you have a lot more options to change the filter. These specific LUTs mimic the ARRI color science, which is basically the gold standard.
Great video! Thanks for all the insight!
You bet! Thanks!
Great Video!
Thank you!
I'm curious why you wouldn't attach the follow focus directly to the rods
Good question and sorry in advance for the novel lol. If I know I’ll be shooting long enough to require a v-mount, I put the follow focus on the rods. But if I don’t need the v-mount, then I wouldn’t need the rods. If I don’t know if I’ll need the v-mount or not, I’ll go into the shoot with the full rig, but put the follow focus on the camera cage attachment in case I end up not needing the v-mount. Then, I can ditch the rods and v-mount, slap an NPF battery onto the monitor and use the quick release plate to have a lighter, smaller rig all while keeping the follow focus attached. So then in that case, I don’t have to fuss with taking the follow focus off the rods and attaching the cage attachment just to move the follow focus. Also, to move the follow focus from the rods to the cage attachment, I’d also have to remove the matte box. It all just comes down to preference and how it fits your workflow though lol. If that doesn’t make sense lmk and I can try to explain it better. Really good question.
Chill high quality video ❤ plz make more like this bro
Thank you! Means a lot!
queria tanto esse Bleach
Yeah the bleach LUT is nice! I’ve used it here and there and it’s worked out beautifully
did you over expose?
When I’m outside I usually overexpose but stay between +1.2 and +1.7. Most info I’ve seen about these LUTs says it unnecessary to overexpose, and I would agree about 95% of the time.
Are you converting to rec709 with a separate lut then adding these? Or just using these? Curious how much correction is needed
Hey sorry I missed this! I did not convert to rec709. Just popped the log footage into my timeline and applied the LUTs!
@@virgilwardmedia thanks!
Natural (the default reference natural colors), Utopia (more saturated colors), Jamaica (more calid, yellow), Ice Blue (more cold, blue), Tungsten (What is exactly this one?)
Tungsten A slightly warmer golden cast designed to be utilised for subjects bathed in tungsten light
try the buttery luts toooo
Ooh I'll have to check those out!
What book are you currently reading
Right now I’m reading Getting Past Your Past by Francine Shapiro. It’s really good so far! You reading anything?
Thank you
Which version of the LUT is this? do you know the latest version is G7?
These are the G6. My understanding is that the G7 changes are only for the Ninja V monitoring and not for the LUTs applied to the footage in post. I could be wrong though! I’ll have to go back and watch Joel’s video update to check on this. Thanks!
Thanks for clarifying!!
