Disco 1 - An Overview Of The New And Exciting Banana Slammer (+ Warning To Anime NO WATCH IT !)
"You do know I can just Eat the Banana to escape Right ?" - Donkey Kong
Created on September 12th, 2017
Alternate Title: Banana Slammer
this requires a lot of explanation. so basically one day, kugee posted a video called "Is disco currently making a comeback?" and at first glance, it looked like it was just a short stupid video with annoying music. then it was suddenly made private a day later, only to come back up within hours... and then it changed. it first said "yes, disco is making a comeback" and then said "no, disco is not making a comeback". in subsequent days, these cards were trailed by some of the most bizarre shitposts i had ever seen, and that's saying something given all the gonzo videos kugee had made before. how did he manage to change the same video? he obviously wouldn't be major enough to be granted that privilege
turns out he found his own way. the actual video was 65 minutes long, and parsed into enough segments to span an entire month, roughly one skit per day. after one part had run its course, he would make the video private and retrim it, then publish it again after waiting hours for it to apply. i was there to see it unfold in real time, and it's an absolutely insane use of a primitive editing function youtube offers. i don't think anyone but him could have come up with that idea, nor had the willpower to put it to action. hell, there will probably never be another video like this. it may not seem like it given this segment was very basic, but trust me, when the skits got crazier, they would seriously mess with your mind.
while the disco videos had later been sent to another channel to be posted, it was short-lived, and most of the fragmented videos ended up being lost for years just to set it in, creating vague chaotic memories for the few who did get to see the whole thing play out. that is until in 2022, kugee finally started submitting them all to razorback as they were for everyone to enjoy at any time. now, i do the same here. many of the titles submitted to razorback were different from the ones from the channel where they were originally mirrored to, possibly for brevity. these uploads will use the original titles, and alternate razorback titles will be moved to the description where applicable
i'm also setting the actual creation dates for some videos according to their true sources, not when they were necessarily published. some of the videos were created far ahead of time, whether recycled from other projects or held back by a necessary delay. it just so happens the great disco was in development since september 2017, and had stacked up a small number of parts before going into a hiatus until it was resumed in may 2018. there's a ton of interesting things about the disco that i don't think i could simply cover in these notes. if i feel like it i may make something going over what all went into this
on November 14, 2023, Kugee's website, Razorback, shut down, and hundreds of the best retro tech videos vanished with them. He sent me some nvme drives with raw footage and project files so I can preserve his videos in the best format possible. so this is effectively the official archive of Razorback (and kugee's youtube channel)

A fun, flexible, and innovative sandbox game for the PC, where you can either be helpful and assertive or rude and bad. You could go to a random person's house and break and steal everything for fun. However, the game may crash because you were being dumb, breaking those pots and grabbing onto that big money bag. What's most unique about this game is that it was designed for crocodiles, so whil...
x86 Assembly Hello World Tutorial

An overly verbose tutorial that ultimately leads to nothing more than creating a Hello World program for DOS. Made for the hell of it a few months back, a little bit before work on The First Cell began. Some stuff here may be a bit inaccurate as I have learned quite a lot more since then. In particular, it's more ideal to use SI over BX when referring to a location in memory a lot of the time. ...

Cool !! Created on May 19th, 2023 have i seen this board somewhere? this ended up being the last video kugee created with his camcorder. there hadn't been any brand new videos posted to razorback since this one, except for the third squid movie, a direct capture of some computer, which turned out to be the final post on razorback all around. it just so happened he quietly lost interest, and sol...

Windows 98 on a 486, with and without the IE4 shell

Execution time is everything. By clogging essential user interface elements with intensive web browser components, the original purpose of Windows 9x being geared to less powerful systems in contrast to Windows NT is nullified. A simple replacement of Windows 98's Internet Explorer-based shell with the one from Windows 95 makes a world of a difference in speed and resource usage, especially on ...

Redtoast Promotional Short
Переглядів 7213 годин тому
Created on August 30th, 2020 this was a small video kugee posted to some outlets showing his development of redtoast, a remaster of windows 98 he was working on, which would have statically integrated the windows 95 shell into windows 98 using his own methods. his well known windows 95d lite project was intended to be a stopgap for redtoast, but over time he lost interest in the project as it s...
Cheap APM Poweroff Workaround for Windows NT 4.0 on MPS Systems
Переглядів 8613 годин тому
Oddly enough, the procedure to get APM poweroff working in Windows NT 4.0 seems to only apply to single CPU systems. If you happen to have a dual CPU system that's most likely going to be using an ATX power supply, attempting to power off after shutdown may fail outright. Essentially, the batch script the user executes from Windows NT is used to set things up to automatically reboot into MS-DOS...

While this site has maintained a consistent look throughout its whole operation, there were a couple of weeks where it looked very different from what it is now. Originally, this site was designed to require a browser capable of HTML4 and CSS, as I wasn't certain I would be able to get the exact design I wanted if I went any earlier. Just weeks after the site's launch, a lot of people started c...

"...historic software on it which served foundations . to make the robot takeover of 2025 Happens ?" This video was created on the 24th day of the first month of the year 2018. In the years since then, namely from 2020 onward there has been great progress in "artificial intelligence". People are starting to rely more and more on it. The robots may really take over in the year 2025, it seems !!!! or Is it just a coincidence? Sent from my ИМКО-4/Правец-16.

I discovered and started visiting this website regularly just months before it shut down. I had left a couple comments on some pages, under the username 'alinur' or something similar. There was a lot of pages on the site which really connected with me, I related to and was very interested in the thoughts and opinions, and works of just this one person. It is a great treasure of information, like a time capsule of sorts into the late 90s and early 2000s. I am now also very fascinated by this era of computing partly because I had never really gotten to experience it, and the same goes for the stuff on razorback as well. It was truly great.. if the site could be fully reinstated at some point, even if just as a static archive, not necessarily a proper continuation of the site, it would be great. I hope that Kugee is doing well, wherever he is. I wish I could somehow write to him and tell him how I feel and share many of his thoughts, but it's fine if he does not want to accept that sort of mail. I can always just write in these comment sections instead, so it's no problem.
