Going to Chiang Mai by train is so nice. You can you choose the train how do you want to go. We chose the train with sleeping coach. There're upper and lower in sleeping coach. If you are alone, choosing lower bed is the best cos you can enjoy the view when you wake up the morning. The price is a little higher than the upper but it's nice. Sorry to hear that. I think the guide, they explain which way is the best, short trip or long trip and what we can see during the journey before trekking. So we can choose what we want. For us, the guide explained which way is better.
