The easy, fast and wrong way to "break" a horse when it's too feisty like Spirit is to starve and deprive it of water for 3 days, or until it submits. It's a disgusting way to go about it. The beeter way is obviously putting in the time, love, effort, and care into forming an actual relationship with the horse. And getting it used to other humans. THEN teaching it to be a riding horse.

Dude, when you said you were kinda cheering for the cowboys I was like WHAT!?!? This movie is about freedom. And the boy and Spirit didn't hate each other, Spirit just didn't like humans after what the other ones put him through and he wanted to be free and didn't want to be ridden or tamed. In the end they had mutual respect for each other as fellow living beings who wanted their freedom. Both the boy and Spirit were having to deal with the army and colonization. And about the girl who said "why aren't they wearing blue jeans?" talking about Little Creek. He is literally a Native American lol. This movie took place when America was first being settled and plus the Native Americans were always content in what they had and didn't care for blue jeans or roads and big buildings etc.
