Verti Drain
Переглядів 2042 роки тому
Short clip demonstrating how we verti drain fairways here at Drayton Park. (14.02.22) This machine can be used all over the course on all surfaces for deep aeration. 1 machine to spike all our fairways takes 2.5 days. Many use multiple machines to speed up the process and limit disruption to play.
Infinicut Demo
Переглядів 5522 роки тому
Trialling the infinicut pedestrian mowers on our greens. Looking to purchase 4 of these mowers in the Autumn. Toro, John Deere and Jacobsen predominately lead the way on golf walk mowers yet looking at these Infinicut mowers. Electric, user friendly and modern. . . They give a great cut and the lads approve.

Frosty mornings Drayton Park Golf Club
Wow you’re course has 5 workers? Sh*t our superintendent cut us down to one greens and one mechanic. 🤦🏽♂️
Nice video! You guys don’t run into problems using the tractor to top dress? I would think the tire marks would be unbearable with that thing
You manage get on here with Bigga my friend
No pal. Didn’t try tbh - Entered a comp there
@@golfgeekgolfgreenkeeper3465 no worries my friend. Hope you played well 👌
Love the video's! I am a retired golf course superintendent and spent 35 years in the business! The video brings back great memories! Keep up the good work! Blessings to you and your family, Kevin Barron
That took too long for 1 bunker😅
Great video showcasing our industry 👏
LMAO…. I cut #6 last weekend without the mower engaged! Yes I’m a newbee!
Happened to me before as well. Lol.
Greens Iron huh? We just call em 'Rollers' "Rolling Greens."
I have a six year gulf course working experience agronomy green keeper all job i understand
Isit it an enjoyable job?
Thanks for the video! It brings back memories... I was a golf course superintendent for 35 years! Beautiful course! The 1 thing I didn't like was the type of cup changer you use; not a fan of that style! Other than that I was impressed with the overall course!
How have I only just seen this fantastic video mate. It's really well done, you make a great presenter 👍
Got an interview soon, so this was really helpful, thank you.
Did you get the job? If so how do you like it?
How often are you back lapping and having your reels grinding done ?
Reels about once a year ideally
Is it true green keeping is not a well paid job?
Yes it is true, I worked on a 3 different golf courses (midlands) over a 12 year period, I was qualified nvq level 2, sprayer pa1 pa2 certificate and chainsaw license and and the peak was getting just over £16.000 a year... what this video doesn't highlight is how some conditions you have to deal with in the canteen and sheds are horrendous and cold throughout the winter, the committee always gives a tight budget which is a struggle and you have to deal with members moaning, also a majority of the kit is dated.... definitely not the best job in the world in my opinion, you can work 2 years in a building trade and then be on nearly double
@@leecoops1248 Out of interest what hours were you typically working? What time would you start in the mornings? There's a grounds team job advertised on a local course am half tempted to apply..
@oliverm6513 I worked a typical 40 hour week, (8 hrs a day) the courses I worked at we mainly started about an hour before it got light... earliest was 6am latest was 7:30 ... also did a rotation of taking it in turns to do the weekends but they were only 3 hours each morning cutting the greens or brushing them and it was classed as overtime pay... time and half Saturday then double pay Sunday (these were one in 6 weekends) also members runned clubs are the best to go for, privately owned places tend to have tight budgets (eg ppe) and pay is not amazing there as they want profits
It's cool that you can buy the "head only" for the Groundskeeper II rake and add whatever handle you like... I'm putting a reinforced 72" handle on mine, should be awesome... might reinforce the handle at the head with some JB weld.
nice job!
How is this job in KSA?
Don't, I've done it for years and fully qualified, if you want to get treated like a pile of muck then yes perfect job for you. The standards at golf clubs have gone right down since the mid 1990s due to financial stress. the younger generation is no longer playing the game so relying on older to keep the money coming in.very expensive to join a golf club and if you are new you will get the worst jobs going, my advice is don't do it
I’m in the states and there is a job open I may take exactly like this. Do you stand by this statement?
@@mikem287 been working at various golf courses for 7 years, (in sweden) its not bad at all, Plus i dont even play golf. But golf is still pretty popular among younger generetions here. Take the job god dammit
Agreed. The place reeks of wealth and privilege yet you're there working your ass off so you can barely survive check to check. The whole green crew should quit. The course will be a jungle in a week. Try playing now. Thankless position.
Work overtime all summer so you can have shorter days in winter . Watch people play golf when you have to work. Not as great as you think
It sucks. Went back to it this year out of desperation for a job. Super early start, non stop work all day for garbage pay. Leaving soon.
좋은영상 잘보고 갑니다.
Wow hand matting. How long does that take??
Great video!
Fantastic video, credit to you for making it!
I would so work at yur GC, you seem like a cool Boss to have, my Boss needs a few lessons from you Sir!
im so jealous of yur irrigation system, I have to mickey mouse a 60 year old system that is only half automated, i have to pop individual sprinklers manually for #1, #3, #5, #6, #7, #11, #17 and #18.............its 2021 lol. Cheers from DCGC Canada
Great video👍🏼🏌🏻
Being a good greenkeeper requires a lot of passion (and know how) as I recently learned in this interview I did with a head-greenkeeper: ua-cam.com/video/Jj1qC0pwUJ8/v-deo.html
Great insight 👍🏼
looks very zen. But would hate to do bunkers like that
Funnest Moment the list could be endless lol
I'd be knocking that pin back in on top of the main gates pal
