I lived in Shelby for 6 years. People are awesome, but on the plains the wind HOWLS nearly every day! I do so love Montana... ALL of it❤❤️

My friend and i grew up here. He is now 22 and owns a home in saratoga he bough for cheep and fixed up singlehandedly adding neer 150,000 to the vaule of his property. Dude drives a shitty car he maintains himself because hes smart and his neighbors can not for the life of them wrap their head around how he lives on the same street as them without selling drugs. Moral of the stroy is you can be wicked sucsessfull in saratoga but if your not keeping up with the joneses your garbage. To live in saratoga comfortabley now is to live in an augmented reality. Saratoga isnt a small town its a highly exsculsive town where high profile ties and money can get you anywhere in life
I'd be lying if I say I don't love saratoga but the disparity between rich and poor is the difference between living in a place with no insulation and owning over 50% of the towns property's and buildings in the town limits of saratoga

I think all of Montana is Beautiful - All of it. Its one of the cleanest places I've ever seen. And people seem to actually respect the state. You don't see that in very many places these days

Yeah. It was ranked that. But even driving through it I was thinking...its a nice city but I wouldnt say it looks like the best place to live. But maybe the crime rate is really low because no one leaves their house. haha
@@Americassmalltowns don't get me wrong, I hate traffic. I live in a city that has almost the same amount of people, but difference is, in my city no matter what time you drive, there is traffic everywhere. It sucks. Only time to avoid traffic is to drive before 6am and then around 7:30am the whole place is swamped with cars. In the video what timr was it? Looked around 6pm. I read that people don't like traffic in Naperville.

I have a friend that lives in Des Moines. Thats not far from there. Next time I go visit I'll drive through Winterset.
What was shown on this video has not changed all that much from the late Fifties and early Sixties. (And that is good!). The colleges are really what makes Oneonta purr along. No big swings in jobs and general population numbers. "Slow and steady" has been the rule over the years. Other larger up-state towns and cities have just about all seen extreme degrees of deterioration. And of course a major aspect of a Town or City's is the overall class of its citizenry. Although not displayed or critiqued in this video, I assume it is still dominated by caring permanent residents based on the apparently cared for part of town shown in the video.
