In this video, “Cowl Mounted Lights on the Gladiator”, we’re diving into an essential Jeep Gladiator mod for any overlanding or off-road enthusiast: installing cowl-mounted lights. I walk you through the installation process of SKTYANTS dual light cowl mounts, Nilight 4-inch 60W LED light pods, and Auxbeam 4-inch 120W LED light pods. Whether you're looking to upgrade your Gladiator's lighting for better trail visibility or just want to enhance your rig’s rugged aesthetic, this video has everything you need to know.
From start to finish, I’ll share pro tips for a seamless installation, including proper wiring and mounting techniques. I’ll also give you my honest feedback on the performance and design of the Nilight and Auxbeam lights. Are these LED pods worth adding to your build? Find out as I test them and highlight what I love-and what could be better-about this setup.
This video is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their Jeep Gladiator or other overland rigs with high-performance lighting. Whether you’re tackling nighttime trails, navigating remote campsites, or just want to boost your vehicle's functionality and style, this cowl-mounted light setup is a must-have for any adventure enthusiast.

Do you wear these when washing the Gladiator?
@@UncleFjester if I can remember to put them on.. mainly for the dirty work
@UncleFjester my gladiator is from up north and has some kind of fluid film all under the vehicle. It makes a mess.. I also own an 1998 xj that had alot of let's say bleeds.. I use them while working on small engines and chainsaws
What made you think it was a good idea to light up the top of your hood? I don't get it. Why Ditch Lights? Why would anyone want to drive in the ditch? If you want to see down the road shouldnt you put the lights on the grill or front bumper?
@UncleFjester the main point for my application was more light where I need it for video.. with the lights closer to me, I can direct the lights to see things directly beside me, without any dark spots.
I thought you would be the great hope with the step-by-step connection solve. However, no definitive answers, damn. One comment helped. Go through the settings on the app. Allow for notifications and nearby devices. Taa-dah, perfect connection. Thanks all
@@badbrad2043 yep it kinda just happened on my end....

Nice fall was not going anywhere else.
@theoldfellaDigwell this was the 1st pecan tree i had ever fell. That wood is hard and breaks off really fast. It does not hang on the stump at all.. I have another tree video coming out Feb 4th.. I hope you enjoy..
Glad to see I was not alone having issues in getting the bluetooth to pair...it was the same on my end....only worked after restarting the app and allow it permission for a full cavity search. Thanks for sharing your struggles. note: samsung galaxy S21
@@davegoud S24 on my end..
@@davegoud please subscribe if you have not already.. thanks
My Samsung Android phone had no problem pairing with the unit. I love using the phone to control it. I believe Bluetooth was on by default, it shows a Wi-Fi type icon on the control panel when it's enabled. Just did the search, it connected and everything was working great!
@@brianargyle7344 please subscribe. I plan on getting out in a few weeks to put it to a real test..
I looked up UA-cam vevor bluetooth setting and there was one that went through it step by step . My apple version app hooked right up and paired . The panel on unit has to be on Bluetooth on . Hardest part was waiting to let it do its thing because it seems like it’s not doing anything . On app you can see the combustion temps heating up until it’s ready to fire . Also a setting for temperature offset for differences in built in thermostat. Mine was a -9 setting difference . Working great so far for testing in my greenhouse . I plan on firing up at seed starting time to gain a few months on either end . In put a trickle / charger on my worn out battery and adjusted gears to keep the voltage from dropping to far down .
@Mechanicturfgear mine would not even find the app using the qr code. So I just searched for the app. Mine has worked fine after I shutdown the app the 1st time..
I got one today. Also bought the single wedge or tongs holder but not sure if I can add it with the others. Not a lot of room.
@@alittleofthisandalittleofthat i know you can purchase the wedge pouch separately
Wow guys... This thing about whooped me. I go through a few external mods/upgrades that I made to the heater. All things you can do without altering the heater. I also spend a great deal of time getting the app connect and work on my phone. Enjoy the video. Now that I have the bugs worked out I cant wait to take it to the woods.
Hello I hope you all enjoy this video of the unboxing of the Vevor Diesel Heater. I have posted another video showing the operation of the heater using the bluetooth app.
Like having a patient uncle whos done it a thousand times explain every step. Well done.
Thanks.. wait for the video of me hooking up the Bluetooth.. wow it really took me a thousand times. It will be edited some, but I will leave in my trouble...
Keep us posted on Bluetooth. Im able to connect but theres problems. Once it disconnects i cant seem to reconnect unless i shut the heater completely down.
@bakauwudylan ok u will try all of that this week and get back to you.
I have a new video up today, showing how to operate using the Bluetooth app on my phone.. please watch it to see if it helps. Thanks for the comments. let me know if it does help.
That is better than Christmas...such a wonderful life moment
Yours looked really good before you started. Mine look horrific. The belt and harness are a mess. I will try the lemon juice trick when I try to clean everything up. I don't have any deer tallow but I do have a bottle of Meguires Leather Restore that works good to soften old leather.
@fauxque5057 if they are really bad try the SNO SEAL. That will stand up better to the environment. The MeGuires is will likely not last long enough or restore anything but looks.. If you don't use Sno Seal or obenoffs then get youbsoke neets foot oil.. that would be your best bet..
What did you put in there for coagulation, I couldn't understand what you said?
We use cat litter..

MINERAL OIL
Thanks
Sweet setup!!
Hey Chuck!! Personally, I would opt out of the leveling kit. I can't stand to see them higher in the front than the back, and that's exactly what will happen as soon as the tent goes on. Just my opinion. Nice jeep though!!
I did install the bags in the rear.. But I agree I don't want to have the Carolina squat going on. Thanks for the comments
My research says food grade mineral oil is the best thing to use (unscented baby oil works). Olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil etc. are not recommended due to going rancid (giving the knife an odd odor).
The rust makes me hesitant but I’ve had this knife in my cart (Amazon) for months. It was definitely rust? Not sheath leather dye or residue? Is it stainless still? I enjoyed your video, especially the very beginning when you filled your coffee. lol…
Yes it was rust we had it out of the sheath for a while.. We clean off the rust and it comes back... good call on the avocado oil going rancid. I'll get something different. Other than the rust it is a nice knife.. for the price
You can rub the blade with raw beeswax and rub in with heat of your fingers to melt. It'll protect from rust and other harsh elements. Can also help the inside of that sheath. It'll look good on that hammered finish too.
Thanks for the comments
Easy fix with caulk or you could cut the center out and weld it back so the center would be the lowest point. Hope this helps
Thanks for the comments. I appreciate it.
