Sell the t shirt it is very well made and I think it will sell quite easily , nothing worse than a bra that wants to have a fight with you, put that yarn in vinegar water before you use the second ball then make sure you wash it in vinegar water before you wear it.I think Arne and Carlos call it something other than a dicky. I had a beautiful yarn that was in orange red pink when I washed it the colours bleed over about 6 washes was so disappointing as the colours ended out being horrible in the end. But I just kept washing forget to do the vinegar rinse didn’t I. Still as you said I had paid big money for a stunning ball of stunning wool spent time making a beautiful shawl and a week later frogged the whole thing as it looked so terrible. Ire dyed the yarn and knitted it up as socks that were not going to be as visible to the general public . Not what I wanted though.

So very frustrating for sure. I’d like to finish a sweater lol. I have 2 on the needles. Love the new design! I’ll make it for sure. 😊

never heard of a dickie so went searching... Originally called the detachable bosom, the dickey shirtfront, made of rigid plastic, was the fashion in shirts in the late 19th century; the dickey also was one of the first successful, commercial applications of celluloid. Like the detachable shirt collar, the dickey (a bosom-front for a dress shirt) was invented as a separate accessory for the shirt, which thus could be washed, starched, and pressed more readily than could be laundered if the dickey were an integral part of the shirt. Etymologically, the word dickey is from Cockney rhyming slang, wherein dicky dirt denotes a shirt.

I love this but I find it difficult to knit with yarn thicker than 4ply/fingering. I could knit this in 4ply and it would take a very long time but it would be so effective. I have lots of sock yarn left overs so I will give it a try!

In English "Hawser" is usually used to describe twisted steel cables, the kind of thing used in suspension bridges or ship building. I guess we both learned something new.

FYI: The BFL/Kid Mohair appeared to be "compacted" rather than felted. 9/10 times, a magic trick to verify and, more importantly, fix this and will reveal they aren't actually felted is to: run the entire length of the roving through steam. I use a steam gun, but you may also use steam from a kettle. Regardless of which of the two methods you use, be very careful not to burn yourself. Anyway, back to the "magic." As soon as the steam hits the compacted roving, it will expand/puff-up/balloon. It will shock you the first time you do it.😊

I love that first jumper, such pretty colours. I have a USO (Unstarted Object!) to get going with. I did a combo of 7 chains of fibre a year or two ago but wasn't sure about it. Looking at it again I quite like it though I don't know what it will turn out like! Also, it is DK weight which is heavy for me to knit. Anyway, I am hoping I have enough as I have chosen a pattern (Renton on Ravelry) which is a nice cardie to knock around in. I'm not sure what the thickness of the yarn used by the designer for this but I will adjust if I can't get the correct tension. I had planned to have all the yarn wound into balls before the Olympics began but it is very tiring and painful for me to stand for long so I am alternating with winding and spinning another project I have on the go which will take me ages. I have lots of yarns I have spun but don't know yet what to do with but they are not enough for a garment.

So glad to see that first sweater getting the love it deserves, it is so beautiful. I always wondered how you could stop knitting on it when it was so close to being finished. 😂 this is a great knit along.
