Why no toothpicks?
Pretty neat! To make the baterry management circiut more mechanically stable, you could also solder the "OUT-" to the copper structure. It is the same net on the PCB anyways.

Cool build, reminds me of some kind of moon landing craft. As far as camping lantern goes it's to nice to use for camping, I'd keep it as an ornament on my bedside table. 😁
