where did the film come from? I mean how was it found? By a family member I hope. This looks way to modern for 1938 most of the way. The little girl is about the age my mom would've been then...perhaps a couple of years younger. My mom would've been 6 years old! WOW! It's adorable it just really looks a lot more modern than '38 though I guess these people were fairly well off but it sure looks more modern. Beautiful treasures film I sure hope a descendant was able to have it. Some people don't care for the past things while others do. I always have treasure things from family in the past if I can find it while other members and especially newer generations don't seem to care or want anything to do with it. My Grandmother had a doll that was given to her shortly after her mother (my Great Grandma) died in 1913 and she named it after her "Elizabeth." That doll managed to survive all these years though she is in somewhat very worn out. I tried repairing her best as I could after my mother gave her to me after my Grandmother died. I had her for a long while and tried to repair her etc. I kept her safely in a box and had wanted to make her a new dress like the one she had originally and would've had to do so by memory only (my childhood mid 1960's. After all the moves and shifting around through the decades I gave her to my older sister (74 this month) as I moved out of state and I wanted my Sister to have her as she also carried Great Grandmother's name as a middle name. That doll is still safe and sound well over 100 years later. She had a sawdust body and porcelain head and hands and lower legs. It is actually a miracle she made it so far after all that she was put through SO many decades! Why is that? Because she was a family treasure (female side of course) and all of us along the way cared.. She isn't worth money she is priceless in LOVE. This is a beautiful little film and I am really amazed it survived so well.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful family memories, I don't have any info on the family as I bought this in a lot of 36 films all from the same family from 1937 to 1940, 32 were black and white but 4 were color (Christmas 1937, 1938, 1939 and 1939 World's fair) they used color just for special occasions, no family info was included but I figured out through the films that they were from Rhoad Island

Dad definitely went in for a kiss after getting his jacket but mom turned away, probably just because it would be on film and didn't think it would be appropriate.
