Varian always deserved much more then he got in general everything he did was completly justfied nothing he did was even an exagration rapunzel couldn;t help him at the time but she let him get thrown out into the snow he was forced to walk back through the blizzard she had 3 weeks to check on his after but she didn't the whole kingdom thought he attacked her because of some rumor that was clearly false he got chased from his house and was literally persecuted by guards noone ever tried to help him throughout that time he literally tried every path besides evil and only turned to it when he had no other choice after he was defeated the king allowed for him to be imprisoned with andrew a truly dangerous terrorist and yet in the end he's the one seeking forgivness intent on erasing everyone's memories of what he did and it's shown after that the kingdom still doesn't trust him and views him as a villan what they did to him is never acknowledged they should be the ones trying to makeup to him i would prefer if season 3 had varian call the kingdom out on what they did to him he forgives rapunzel because what she did was more an honest mistake but the other people struggle to earn his forgivness
