GORUCK GR1 26L Huckberry Slick One Year Review
Nice ideas. I was looking for ideas to replace my fannypack while hiking. This might be it
Fantastic review. Thank you for doing it! I'm 5'7" and I think my torso size is about 17". I've been looking for a bag slightly bigger than the GR1 21L. I've been worried about the overall capacity of this bag (being too much for comfortable carry -- as I tend to fill all my bags to the max), but it sounds like you handled it just fine and that the bag's expansion upward was helpful. Thanks for such a thoughtful review!
I find putting the fanny pack strap above the hip belt helps with most of those issues you stated, but this is with larger\longer LBT packs. That might be a bit high on your pack but that also might be a good thing. 🤷
I hear you, as a short torso guy I’m a bit short on real estate. 25L Rucker is pushing it as is.
Get the utility version
I like the slim form factor on this model, stays pretty stable for outright running in my use case as well
Nice option. I appreciate the review.
👍
Is the Kevlar plate in the back incase we get shot at from the rear?
What's the issue with the quick access pocket? None of my bags have one.
Nice and to the point mate, thanks. I too love my GR1 26l and am debating this GR3 35l or the GR2 40l as my next and probably final purchase. The 26l is perfect for work, just need something a bit bigger for travel. How have you liked it so far?
Hey do you still have this bag or did you sell it?
What kind of hip belt you have?
thank ! IS THE HIP BELT AN ADDITIONAL BUY?
I was considering the classic bullet ruck 15 without any frame sheet or laptop compartment so it can pack flat like this inside of a kit bag or larger ruck (I thought the laptop bullet ruck might be less packable) But from what you showed it seems that the 16L laptop bullet ruck can lay flat just fine to be a packable day ruck solution. Now you've changed my mind to want the 16L haha
Good quick review here. I recently purchased the Wolf Grey GR3 35L and it really is the perfect solution to one bag travel
Bought the 20l Rucker in the same sale, really good deal. I blacked out that huge nasty logo with a black fabric pen, two coats and it’s unnoticeable.
How has this bag held up so far? Currently debating between a 21L m23 in ripstop or 500d cordura
Excellent review. My Rucker 2.0 zippers broke and SCARS sent me a new 4.0 this is helpful
Nice video man! I'm thinking of maybe getting a M23. Maybe for Christmas!
GR's prices are just ridiculous. i want one but not THAT bad.
It’s a love/hate relationship
@@Bgaragereviews i bet!
Hate the airline carry-on restrictions. Sometimes I've just carried a smaller "compliant" backpack as well as a small plastic bag (for like a pair of shoes etc) as they see the plastic bag as a shopping/duty free allowance.
*yutulu* Bolsa réplica 1:1 can imagen reflejada, resistente y resistente al desgaste. Me gusta mucho.
Great Video and good problem to have getting new pants.
Great real world review, not just a product overview. What polo are you wearing in the vid?
Excellent video. Just what I needed. Thanks!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the review. Lets say you are traveling by plane. You will be rucking in your destination. The trip is only a couple of days. Would you use it a a unique baggage piece? (minimizing all your carried objects).
Yes, I have. And you could get things like 24 pack of water bottles or some sand bags for weight at your destination
Hey... may I know how tall you are? I'm 6ft, 180lbs and using a Rucker 4.0 Reflective Arrowhead black/white for 15 to 20km 30 lbs rucks 3-4 times a week. I was listening intently to your feedback about the diff between the 20L with shorter straps vs your GR1 26L with its longer straps. They say to wear your ruck weights high, and on my longish body frame, they do, just the straps seem to fall a little short on my chest ; I prefer them longer, so thinking about the 25L to get the longer straps. I need the hip belt for rucking and have ordered them, but as is, the 20L are a little snug and short on their straps for me, so am wondering about your feedback whether it is better to change from 20L to 25L Rucker 4. I would have thought, less is more. The 20L on me, looks a tad small. My build is similar to yours. Cheers!
Will this work for a personal item on airline travel? Not carry on, but personal item.
I’m not an expert on how airlines view personal items. I have carried mine as my only bag and stored in the overhead, and also as part of a two bag combo with one in the overhead and the M23 stored under the seat at my feet. It fits under the seat with no problem (I have the 21L)
@@battlecreek1999 great info….thanks! I appreciate it!
@@battlecreek1999 Thanks for this! Appreciate the info!
I don’t know why they wouldn’t. Women have 15L purses and a diaper bag both as a personal item.
You obviously don’t know anything about hip beats son
Thank you for the review. If you had to pick one between GR1 and M23 which one would it be? I have a 34L GR2 which I use on my motorcycle trips and a 26L Rucker 3.5 and looking for a travel bag. Thank you.
Only one? GR1. Different bags for different roles, add an M23
Woooo!! Congrats! Just logged my first 5k done in training…seeing your results have motivated me! More time, more miles, more rucking
Congrats on the great finish! Thanks for sharing, keep crushing it!
Excellent bag thanks! What is the biggest purpose for rucking?
Mainly fitness, starting to pick up in popularity
nice video! thank you! i love the aesthetics and volume of this bag, but not a fan of the drawstring because it seems one more step to get in the bag from top. noticed you didn't mess with the drawstring when you pull thing out from the bag, just wondering if you use the drawstring at all? do you simply just fold the top side in like what it looks like in your video? any comment about how the drawstring affects the ins and outs when you use the bag for edc?
True I never use the drawstring, just stuff it all in on itself and clip the fidlocks. Got rained on the other day and nothing got it.
Thank you, exactly the info I was looking for! I'm sitting here waiting for one of those green colors or black without the white logo.
Just ordered a 26 M23 for travel. Like your Lost Dutchman Ruck Club Patch.
Thanks! Pre-COVID they were a lot more active in southern AZ but these days mainly in Phoenix. Planning on using the 21L for short travel next month, plan on updating then
Any association with the Lost Dutchman swim meet?
@@gen3kali877 never heard of it, sorry!
Great video.....H-Minus
Solid review, im definitely picking up some of those straps! Thanks! 👍
Appreciate the review. I’ve been enjoying mine for EDC, airline travel, and quick weekend travel. I was tempted by the 18L Bullet with double compartment, but this just seems to be more flexible. I don’t load it out heavily, but can as needed vs the 18L Bullet
I too was tempted by the bullet especially for light travel. However the depth of the main compartment would have been just too shallow for most of the things I would carry for EDC
Will this work for a personal item on airline travel? Not a carry on, but a personal item.
@@NorseRanger just returned from a 4-day trip with the M23 as my personal and only item, no issues even maxed out capacity
@@Bgaragereviews ok. If it's your only item they could consider it as your carry on and not say anything. I was hoping to get the m23 and pair it up with a regular carry on size suitcase. Thanks for the review. 👍🏻
@@NorseRanger it was under the seat and was not made to put it in the bin, on the return had the straps maxed out for largest length and still no problems
