I've got to ride that lonesome train My heart is heavy with aches and pain I said, "But someday, someday baby After a while, you will be sorry" Every day my clouds are grey It takes you to roll all those clouds away I said, "But someday, someday, baby After a while, you will be sorry" Trouble, trouble, trouble on my mind Trouble, trouble, way down the line I don't need, I don't need no sympathy So babe, babe, don't you, don't you pity me I may be blue, but I don't mind Because I know way down the line I said, "Someday, someday, baby After a while, you will be sorry"

Oh baby, look how you got me standin' 'round crying Lord I love you little girl, you're always resting on my mind Oh baby, I ain't gonna be riding you 'round in my automobile You got so many men, I'm afraid you may get me killed Oh baby, you ain't nothing like you used to be When I was deep in love with you, little girl You were just sweet as an apple on a tree.

NASA could've saved a fortune by letting the Apollo 11 crew just hitch a ride on a Clapton 335 bend.

I think what Eric Clapton did to George Harrison is really bad! But he sure is a good singer songwriter and guitar player!!

Is that 335? Huge sound must be humbuckers semi hollow? Awesome album, five long years is another massive track

Yeah it's his 335. His 335 is the best sounding guitar he ever had and it's not even close.

This recording is one hell of an advertisement for Gibson guitars

Is this recorded on his Gibson, or custom Strat? I thought the Strat, but I could be wrong

this is one of my all time favorite of his solos...sort of midpoint in his career. The mastery is tremendous....almost hard to believe...and so soulful and fluid.....just pouring out...and with all the incredible accelerations and downshifts....never a wasted or arbitrary or "show-off" note. His next phase...you here it with JJ Cale collaborations...or a Crossroad Festivals....where he's more abbreviated....but hitting sweet spots other players can't even imagine....Slow fast old young...50 fukkin years of genius and gifts to anyone with ears to hear....I'll rhapsodize a little more....so many solos are historic events to me...fragile, perfect crystalline....like snowflakes...all different. Moments of brilliant light that flash and disappear....Among great players he's unique...His guitar is singing angelic script...and I'm not particularly religious...But he's magical....How often do we get a person that sings in a totally non-referential universal language....that can translate itself with such grace into any human heart with perfect understanding. For the 5 decades I've been listening and emulating when I can...maybe Bach or Hendrix....are "players"where i just become ears to heart and stop trying to figure it out. well, there is Beethoven...and without the slightest sarcasm I put Eric Clapton in that league....Because as a long time guitar player (kind of a talented imitating monkey...not an on the fly composer)....Even in his "easier (slower) stuff i can put together with 95% accuracy.......( the best compliment I EVER got was being called his"illegitimate son" by a player i respect) ....If he's a "10"then I'm a .0000001 compared..... He's inspired me hugely....the fact that in his "spare time" he donates the proceeds of Crossroads to research for his clinic etc. and by nature seems an authentically modest man.....I'm not a fame/fan type.....but I suppose he's a hero to me....As far as his music goes...even the stuff that can be deciphered and played....is so full of "sweet spots" he doesn't just riff...he writes short stories in music...beginning, middle,end...they are short compositions that are filled with interior coherence and metronomic elegance.... Whether consciously or not...no guitarist isn't using something he that he didn't put into the vocabulary.....he absorbed everyone....and put it together into his voice.....well if you read this verbose raving...I mean it all......

This man is absolutely a guitar god. Has he ever played a bad song? Think about it. Started out loving his music " Sunshine of Your Love " was my wake-up call to Clapton. Remembering fabulous barbecue week-ends in Palisades Park, dancing our asses off. I grew up with THE best music. And Eric led the way! Super super talented dude.

Get yourself a vinyl copy of this LP and a pair of studio quality head phones, not those crappy overpriced beats POS but a real pair of closed back studio reference headphones, put this album on the turntable and drop a diamond on it and sit back and be prepared to be amazed. Clapton ain't God, but I bet he gets a Christmas card from him every year!
