Probably 2 years since since last viewing this wonderful piece of history. Such a loss M. U. Can anyone name the female background singer?

I'm puzzled ADEVA. I've been a fan since RESPECT got me hooked in the late 80s. Her rendition of that matches that of Aretha Franklin's and may even surpass it!! I can't find any ADEVA accolades or Grammy history in her bio despite a deep search!! Surprisingly, she only charted at #17 here in the UK 🇬🇧 on any of her released singles. I really can't figure this one bit!! My opinion of her vocals is she has a very powerful range and I can hear every word of her lyrics crystal clear!! She really is right up there with the very finest of female singers on the planet!! As I'm typing this I've got "I deserve to breath" on loop mode because it's so, so, epic!! So I really don't understand why she hasn't reached the status of other gold standard artists...certainly not the UK anyway. Can anyone explain why this is??

In 1989, Safety in Numbers was the first CD I ever bought after growing up with vinyl. Still have it to this day and my now 16 year old daughter has found it and was telling me about this “great singer Margaret Urlich” ❤️

Wow, finding this and listening to Margaret and her band absolutely slaying every song has made my day. She passed way too young and leaves us with so many memories. What an artiste!!

We had a romantic connection in 1990 with 90 solid minutes of full eye contact, we just locked eyes and never looked away ,but we never spoke to each other. I'm the topic of 'Crime to be that cool', and possibly the unknown missing person mentioned in the deepest blue. Never got to ask. RIP beautiful lady.

I was in my early teens back then and I think the reason why Unchained Melody ranked no.1 was that singer had just passed away around that time which caused it to be back in the charts

Tide Keeps Rolling In. A woman's waiting for the 'tide' to find her instead. It's great writing imo. If it had the right clip showing the wrong women, and her waiting, it would have put the world in a good direction. My favourite.

She spent much of 1994 living back in New Zealand and appeared as Mary Magdalene in a major concert production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. Urlich released a version of "I Don't Know How to Love Him" that reached No. 44 on the New Zealand singles charts.

Great band, great arrangements and the band is super tight. The guitarist Mark Punch is especially good, so is Andrew Oh on sax.

Gorgeous, insanely talented and sadly missed. Thanks for the music, Margaret.
