Kayla & Matej
United States
Приєднався 2 жов 2022
I’m Kayla, an animated American & I’m Matej, a compassionate Croatian! We’re a Christian couple and are recently engaged. Our love story is a crazy testimony of how God brought us together from different continents! We met each other at 32 years old, and the Lord used our long season of singleness to truly prepare us for a kingdom marriage.
We love Jesus with all our hearts, and we love to have raw & authentic conversations about how to practically live an abundant life through Jesus.
Our mission is to glorify God and testify about His goodness in our relationships and in our lives.
We promise to share our revelation on how God intended relationships and dating to look.
We promise that it’s possible to have a beautiful love story without lowering your standards.
We promise to give you hope that God’s timing and ways are better than ours.
Thank you for being a part of the soon to be Živković family. We can’t wait to chase after Jesus with you, one video at a time!

My son is half Ecuadorian ,a quarter English and a quarter Croatian. He looks like Josko Gvardiol ! Most Dalmatians are dark. My father is from Dalmatia and he could pass for Mexican.
You are so cute!!! Seeing you so happy makes me happy :))
About being brown: If people see you around town, they will perceive you as different (not Croatian), but there is no hate from 99.9% of people. If people perceive you as a visitor/guest, they are very hospitable because most cultures have teachings about treating guests with kindness (sometimes treating guests with more kindness than citizens). As always, what can change things is when someone wants to integrate in some way into society (become a citizen, marry someone Croatian, or have kids with someone who is Croatian). In these cases, you will see a divide among people like anywhere in the world because now it is no longer a question of a guest.
I am looking to move. My family is fron there
Any advice how to convince my Chinese wife to move to Croatia from Australia?
I know it’s not the topic of your video but I have a question. I am a Christian and I do not want children. I grew up in a house where my mom as to do everything and then complains about us her children saying mothers this and that and my dad saying he is the breadwinner and doesn’t have to do the housework and on top of that, my brothers are treated differently than my sisters and I as we do all the chores. My mother says it is normal for men not to do the housework as they are not entitled to it and it’s wlmen job to do it and we must have children in marriage. I am not against having children at all or doing the chores but it is scary and her mentality as well and now I view marriage differently. It is scary. I am confused. Is it bad that as a Christian I don’t want children and that it is normal for me to normalize the fact that housework isn’t based on gender but both man and women should do it single or married ? Am I wrong ? I need answer as I looked everywhere and don’t see any.
Fist time ive seen a black dude in croatia i was about 14 years old? I couldnt stop looking at him and the dude was like: dahell you want? XD i was just like... no ! my eyes just need to absorb info cous its all new to me we both loved it and he did have like half a meter on me at that point aswell hehehe
she cooks and cleans dude dont let anyone take her from you
15:30 - regarding Croatian specific sounds, you, as an English speaking person, are well versed in ALL of them: č/ć - CHicago, you literally saying it as a first letter: "Čikago". š- SHock: "Šok" đ- Joint: "Đoint" nj- New: "NJu" ž, lj- hmmmmm, well maybe you do not have these sounds....
ž - Measure, Pleasure, Rouge, Luge: "Meažure, Pleažure, Rouže, Luže" lj - Billionaire: "Biljonaire" nj - Jalapeño, El Niño: "Halapenjo, El Ninjo" c - Pretzel, catsup: "Precel, kacup"
@@Tecknowledgist Thanks! :)
@@Blento0404otnelB Thank you too, I'm still learning! By the way, Chicago is pronounced more like šikago. I think a good example of č/ć is "Chechnya - Čećnja." Much love to the motherland from my Canadian diaspora!
In "stationary" cultures, where ppl live & die for generations living in the same house, in average changing 3 jobs/life, many never... Superfriendly & open stranger is a red flag. "Good ppl" do not have time to interact outside of their circle, those who do... probably have some bad intentions or personality flawd and cannot maintain long term relationships so they have to constantly look for the new ppl., new victims...
As a Black American male it would be so awesome to live in Europe. Would Croatia accept a Black dude ?
No
I have to disagree that love is not enough and that every marriage needs effort to work. I've been with my spouse for almost 10 years and we never had to "invest" in our relationship, never even had a fight. I really cannot relate to any of this, I don't think I would be able to live in this "Christian marriage" you're describing. Sounds exhausting and even quite annoying to me. Especially with all these arbitrary gender rules. I think my spouse and I prefer to be free and happy, just best buddies in an effortless peaceful marriage.
What do you mean "brown"? As in skin hue? You are less tan than most of my family, tbh. I am not sure how is that supposed to affect your life in Croatia lol Don't worry, people here don't really care about that kind of thing (except when buying makeup or something) :))
Single men have become so girly and girls having to go for them. I thank the Lord as you guys recontextualize what was first set honoring what a woman is and a man honoring himself / both of them. ❤ I love it.
Ouiiii !! Its not only aligned your person but others desires of your heart in the same timing !!!
I am a Croatian who works in Germany and I literally hang out on Amazon... and I often order something and send it directly to Croatia... within 3-4 days it is in Croatia... although when I order show me that it will be down in about 10 days....It usually doesn't take long to be delivered to Croatia...
Some uses the Holy Spirit’s name and there’s nothing noble around. There is see nobleness of heart and spirit : how things should be ❤ Thanks it gives me rest. You guys are the gospel alive and it’s then true.
I understand their viewpoint and I grew up on the west coast of the USA. Personally I don't want strangers asking me how I am, especially if they do not want a genuine answer. "Good vibes only" and toxic positivity doesn't do me. I haven't had an easy life at all though, and this may contribute to this. I detest small talk, am told I don't smile enough, etc. I wish I could move there but I am single, on SS and cannot transfer it. I found out about my Croatian and Polish (both Slavic) heritage relatively recently, this being on my father's side. Yet I have been this way my entire life and was not popular. I found this interesting. I wish you the best. Learning the language and culture to me is always a priority.
Yes, that's us. Welcome to Croatia. Here, you don't really have many options for online shopping, like in the US, for example. You must understand one thing about us. Croatia is not a developed country. In some things, we are still beginners and we don't have as developed a system as you have in the US. In some things you will see that we are similar, but in a lot of things, we are quite deficient.
Guys, I'm so glad you made this video, wonderful testimony. Can you share a list of questions you asked each other?
go back to the us please
Them text messages sent me 😆
It's better you go back at home
Question: If we were about to enter the 7 year tribulation, why would you want to bring a child into it?
Man bun 😅😅😅 so g@@y
I asked someone question number 5 once, and she said that it was a really deep question…
Bok Matej, slučajno sam naletio na tebe, i baš mi je drago ;) Super ste, tvoj kolega Amos :)
Super great questions, plus you guys are so cute together. Thx
Just curious, how do you think an expat would fare in Croatia with no existing family or friends ties there? I've been to Eastern Europe, mainly Bulgaria a few times. I get the initial coldness that people have. I'm thinking about maybe doing a year in Croatia using their Digital Nomad Visa. How do you think I'd do...I'd be on my own except I'd probably bring my dog. If people are not that initially friendly I'd worry I'd kind of get isolated after awhile. I know individual success will very a lot depending on who the individual is...but in general terms. Without a tie would it be too hard to break into the culture, or after a time would I slowly start building friends and acquaintances? I'd generally be low profile, try to pick up a 100 to 150 word vocabulary fairly soon, and always remember I am a guest. Thank you.
The worse person to be in Croatia is a Serb
gods love stories are bullshit
Welcome to Croatia!Do not worry if cashiers don't chat much;our work ethic is close to German,do your job and no need for communication unless requested. One honest "Dobar dan" at a cashier desk in your local shop in a few days will open the gates (mind you people over 40 might not be so fluent with english). Coffee is a daily item, depending the situation it can be quick or it is a half day event. Language is not that bad once you simplify the logic and try to think in Croatian (watch TV we have subtitles). One trick, you read what you see,no extra letters and read sharp,an "A" is not "ei" it is A😃. Practice makes perfect. Don"t give up,best of luck to both of you!
🙏🤍✨🙏🤍✨🙏🤍✨
You two are too cute! I'm coming to Croatia for dental work. You both have beautiful teeth but if you can recommend from family or friends experience. There's a lot advertised but mixed reviews etc. PS I lived in Amsterdam and I get it! But man, I miss it!
Nice I can tell she’s being honest 👍❤️
Wow! I really understand what you're feeling. I married a croatian man from the coast. Our life was a dream come true. However, the language is the gateway to feeling 100% at home. Now we are back in the states for a short time, and I will say, I miss it like crazy. I don't even care about the lack of communication. I hope you learn the language asap, but just know, you're in a literal utopia ❤
Keep in mind: you are now ONE. GBU and Dobro došla u Hrvatsku
It's true, this guy is showing me that when I meet the man God has for me, he will pursue me and will not leave me guessing for days whether he likes me or not. Such a cute story, I love it ❤
Jesus...if u dont like it, go back where u came from...it is like so for every foreigner living in a strange country all over the world...dont expect everyone will suck in your buttock just cause u are a foreigner

In Split you'll be fine as long as you respect our culture and don't try to import wokeness. But the fact that you're Christian tells me that won't be a problem. 😊
Yesss
Yall are so cute and hilarious I love watching you two testify!!
