As an educator I was skeptical a out this episode, but you are right, teaching IS one of the best ways to learn! When I taught research methods, my students always said one of the most valuable things about the class was that I shared my research failures and successes with them, and in teaching the class, I became a better researcher! Love how you framed this message!

Yeah... we're pretty flexible with the word "read" ... and if all we want is exposure to the information, any number of ways will work. But, yes, as much as we say "those who can't do, teach" because they "know," I also say "to know and not to do is not to know."

I thought I'd pop back here to hear more of the beginning after popping in to episode 6. New podcasts often take a little while to land on their "voice," but Dallas... this one nailed it from Episode 0. I'm impressed. Off to a Championship Day!

As a lifelong teacher, I know the struggle. It is so pleasurable to help others understand--and to master the material myself by teaching. But "knowing" by itself does not change us into the people we want to be.

This is SO true! There is neuroscience backing up every word about how and why we return to pain. It seems crazy, but this really helps unpack why it happens and how to change.

I love this. I've even heard a teacher I respect say that he realized that he spent years consuming all sorts of information on his topic that he taught but didn't DO the things he read about. I had a business coach years ago say that it is not more information people need but INSIGHTS...but Dallas makes a great point here that it is about integrating those insights...what do we do with them?
