That’s not it. It’s a Pakistani harp. They are notoriously cheaply made harps with not the best sound. They’re also very inexpensive and have pretty carvings which is their draw. Many new harpists buy these. They usually don’t last very long and fall apart. The sound will worsen over time. She did a fine job playing and it has nothing to do with that.

I love this!! In Tasmania I found an unusual instrument in a junk shop, that looked like a recorder with ten holes. I have just discovered this is a sopilka! Ukrainian musicians are so skilled at playing these traditional instruments and I would love to find a fingering chart and some folk music so that I can learn to play it too.
