Marching Pride of Lawrence Township 2015
Gosh those drums sound great
It’s amazing they won with brass this dirty
This was prelims
@ they won prelims too
Prelims was a “rough” run compared to their other performances but you have to remember that the microphones pick up individual sounds. It’s possible that the judges didn’t hear that much(tuning, attacks etc)
This show was absolutely phenomenal
Looks like AN LD BELL COPY N PASTE SHOW
Man how many props do they bring out? xD They got girls swinging lifeless out here too.
I was in this show when I was a sophomore. On the snare line. I come back to this every now and then when I need a reminder that I know what it takes to be great, because I was a part of something great. Life defining experience. Thanks for posting this.
I was a freshman at Park Vista when I first saw this show. It not only motivated myself, but a whole class of students to strive to achieve this level of excellence. Fantastic show man. With appreciation from a Park Vista alumni. (2014-2018)
Anyone know the musical selections used in the show? Only one I know of hindemith’s symphony in b-flat
Opening moment is Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copeland. Also samples Human by Christina Perri. Not sure of others.
I remember this show like it was yesterday I saw them in Atlanta. 10 years later I’m still in awe
A direct ripoff from Tilt and not even executed welll.
Ok
Alr just bc your a ancient relic and your dentures don’t fit properly doesn’t give u the right to talk down on high schoolers lol act ur age gramps and be mature
@@RaRoma-oq3ypright?! 😂😂
Reincarnation soul trap.
For anyone wondering, here is the backstory and meaning of this show. This show is the conclusion to a trilogy, which began in 2005 with Ascension. Ascension is about dying and moving into the afterlife with emphasis on the spiritual and mystical aspects of death. 2006 is The Remaining, a show about souls who are stuck on earth after death, leaning into horror, the fear of dying too soon, and being stuck between life and death. 2007 is Transcendents. This show concludes the ART Trilogy (Ascension, Remaining, Transcendents) and follows a young girl from being stuck on earth, but finally finding peace when she is able to move into the afterlife. The yellow figures are loosely based on the monster from Pan’s Labyrinth, who finally consumes her. She dies and meets her spiritual guide, the tall figure in white, and skips through the clouds, finally having transcended to heaven.
thank u for posting these!! do u have any 2021 shows?
You know, 16 years later, this show is more beautiful but just as creepy as I remember. Watching this with fresh eyes and ears is a real treat.
The backfield brass in lux aurumque sounds amazing
Agreed. The talent met the effect for sure
Every now and again I take myself back to that weekend. Grand Nationals taught me a ton about myself. Also I shared my embarrassing moment where I cried on the finalist feature😂😂
Aye that was a good show worth crying overrrr
This show got so close to finals 😭
Why is the clapping so loud 😭
ART!!!!!! they made Art
my senior show omg thank youuuu❤❤❤
16 years later and this performance is the best I've ever watched. So glad to find this to show my daughter as she starts her first year in HS marching. She was also blown away. ❤
How does this group have so many members for a small sleepy Tampa suburb known for a history of sponge diving and Greek food? And they're superb as well. Who or what is responsible for this quality and quantity?
They’re a magnet program so they get kids all across pinellas county
Tarpons springs is a conservatory of the arts. So it’s a performing arts high school! That’s why they have quite a few AMAZINGLY talented students!
I went to Tarpon and performed in the band. The director is incredible. He leads a strong band boosters program and teaches a highly successful leadership course for the students. The participation of the parents have a huge impact on the success of the organization. The student leaders take a leadership course and the director heavily empowers them and gives them the authority to lead the quality of the culture and musical/ visual product to where it needs to be. He puts the power into the hands of the students while holding them accountable to maintain a high standard of excellence.
Have any of the students gone on to schools like Juilliard? I'm sure some, no?
@@AJMundell Sounds fantastic. Thank you.

Despite the age this show still holds up strong to todays great shows. They truly were ahead of their time with this show. One of my all time favorites in BOA history.
That sax soloist fucking killed it
who’s the tall person in the yellow cloak?
These kids are in their 30s now and I wonder if they realize that they're IMMORTAL as the show name indicates.
They knew it then, as did many competing bands watching
👏👏👏
OK, woodwinds...Come through! Love from TSU...Texas Southern University.
Can we just take a second to talk about how CLEAN the flags are???!!! My God! This was excellent 😘😍
IKR. They are absolutely on it this particular year. Alot of the 2000's shows, their guard was top notch.
It blows me away that this band doesn’t win every year. They aren’t the loudest but their shows are always the most highly executed and thematically sound shows you ever see.
Completely agree!!! For sure should have won in 18 and placed top 3 this last GNs
@@josephfarkas1639 As someone who was a part of that performance in 2018, I truly appreciate it! I was kind of sad we didn't place higher but I also was in a band that never made it past prelims for 2 years prior so, I was just happy to be there in the first place.
I’m sorry I agree but there’s also just better high schools with better shows like vandy,Carmel, Hebron, Avon, broken arrow
I mean, fair enough, I do have a bit of bias lol
@@Thatonek1d123Tarpon Springs beat broken arrow this year
my first year performing at Grand nats. Awesome to experience this masterpiece. Not many BOA shows with 4000 members are that great. This one. amazing
Top 5 Bands of America show of all time
AMAZING!
I remember seeing this live at Grand Nats. A buddy of mine was all in on Broken Arrow. I knew in my gut this was the winner. Incredible show.
i agree and remember. I was there too
Still the greatest announcer to opening hit timing in all of band history
I remember we had to perform right after them at this specific competition, talk about an act to follow 😂
First number was amazing
They actually had to mute a part of the show due to copyright??
Copyright clearance is worked out months in advance, in the early planning phase. Can't afford it? Can't play it. Or in this case, can't afford it? Then adapt it until it's barely recognizable, then don't pay a dime. These arrangers are capable of original compositions, but those cost money too.
@@jesuspectre9883wait but we can still hear the sound I don’t get it
Winning scores: Mariam Catholic 2000 - 95.95 Lawrence Central 2001 - 96.40 Lassiter 2002 - 95.55 Westfield 2003 - 94.35 (94.55 w/0.2 pen) How they got a pen? Lawrence Central 2004 - 94.70 Carmel 2005 - 97.10 Broken Arrow 2006 - 96.75 LD Bell 2007 - 96.10 Avon 2008 - 97.75 Avon 2009 - 96.60
Avon 2008 held the record for highest GN Finals score until 2021, and the highest all time score until 2015! They also got a perfect score in Visual Ensemble 😁
Wow!
Anyone who heard BA this particular year would argue it was one of their best, musically.
BA 2011-2013 had one of the most powerful hornlines ever out of any ensembles in my opinion.
Personally I think FaceMe is the best, (2014) but its all relative
They would have definitely won Grand Nats. I’d stake a lot of money on it. I think the only thing holding them back was musical content - if at all in 2013. But I think they knew it since they weren’t going to GN
@@dereksmith3599 why not 2014
Do you have Tarpon 2013??
Gosh I wish I could see that again
Peak blue springs IMO. I miss the aussies especially
Even at Avon’s apex they couldn’t stand a chance against Lassiter 2002, Westfield 2003 and Lawrence Central 2004! Aside from visual it is no wonder they have become irrelevant against the Texas assault in the late 2010’s. BOA executives and the overly visual heavy adjudication have kept them relevant only because BOA adjudicate visual as king. No way Avon plays or sound like the Elites of today. Brass Music books have been watered down so as to put focus on the visuals and guards. I miss the early Midwestern bands of 2000’s.
There's always that one critical elitist in the high school marching band comment section.
Something is wrong with your ears. Avon's brassline at its peak was far superior to the shows you mentioned.
@@l15t3nr if you look at other comments he has put on videos from this channel it is clear that he has a huge bias for Texas. Texas bands are absolutely wonderful but he still holds a huge bias, so I’d just say ignore the comment.
This is quite possibly the best show in BOA history. These type shows are skeletal to their philosophy. Personally, I prefer the more visual heavy and robust sounds of Spring 1993 & Lassiter 2002! All 3 of these shows are G.O.A.T.S. in their own right.
broken arrow 2021 has definitely taken the spot of greatest show in boa history now: with a score of an 98.25, shattering hebron 15's semifinals score.
@@LangBuildsMc BA 2021 definitely can make an argument for that claim. I personally felt Carmel was stronger and has a lot more difficult show visually but Hebron 2021 would have taken BA at GN’s should they have gone imo!
@@johnnychikko3800 I always thought Ronald Reagan's 2019 show and Flower Mound 2016 were the greatest shows with Hebron 2021. Flower Mound was so creative and they would have changed marching band forever had they went. And Reagan..I don't even think I need to explain. Highest super Regionals score and the in my opinion, has the greatest moment in marching history with the big hit at the end of the ballad with the color guard running on the outside of the football field. Definitely would have won GN for sure and probably would have beaten Hebron's 2015 score.
@@brrrrrtenjoyer I agree 💯 with your statement. Hebron 2021!!! OMG
@@brrrrrtenjoyer it’s safe to say that Hebron 22 has definitely topped Hebron 21 now LOL
This is still an absolute BOA classic.
...2005?
When you realize your band directors are filthy plagiarizers 😳
More than likely just the same designer lol. Wes has a very broad reach.
@@macwinlin nah they just straight ripped the show yellow and all
@@macwinlin ua-cam.com/video/j7CaK-nTutw/v-deo.html Here’s the link lol
heard about it like a few weeks ago. it's really funny. i plan on bringing it up to one of our "directors" who has been with the program for decades and see what he thinks. the music is practically 1:1 and it's really hilarious to listen to.
@@LangBuildsMc wait are you from LD Belle? If so hello, I competed against you one time this year and you absolutely decimated us. A pleasurable decimation, though
Only a couple of these are consistently near the top still, not including Carmel. Guess that happens when new schools open?
I’m in the broken arrow pride right now
as a band director of 32 years in Oklahoma I salute you and your fellow students. I have many friends, (mother of my kids), and my internship was done at Broken Arrow. The comment right before your post was not welcome in my book. "Guess that happens when new schools open" ? Broken Arrow schools have been open for more than a century, at least to my knowledge.
