is this route safe from crime
As far as I know it is. I’ve never had any problems and it’s fairly heavily traveled so there aren’t any sections where your all on your own.

Great video. Is this route friendly for road bikes?
Yes it is. Smooth pavement all the way and some short climbs. You can also connect to other bike paths and ride for 30+ miles!

Yes. The route also goes under/over many major/busy roads too, so that you don’t have to conflict with traffic at all.
Verycalm route you took, what was starting point area?
I started at Buffalo Bayou park on Sabine St. The visitors center is there and free parking.

Thanks. Enjoyed seeing Galveston beach. Haven't been there in years, Grew up in Houston so Galveston was the place to go. I even spent a summer here when I did my psychiatric nursing rotation here way back in 1957.

are there alot of mosquitoes there at night along the water?
I haven't spent much time there after dark so I don't know how bad the mosquitos are. There is usually a pretty stiff breeze blowing which should keep help them away though.
Where exactly did you start from? I usually start from holly bay park and ride the dirt trails to Bay Area park. I like the concrete trail you rode on. Would like to try it out.
I started from Moonrock drive in Clear Lake. If you continue riding west from Bay Area park the bike path continues all the way to Space Center Blvd. The path turns left at Bayou Rd. and takes you through UHCL. The path is fairly new and is excellent and worth the trip! Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment! I actually don’t use a gimbal. I use a GoPro hero 9 with hyper smooth boost mounted on the bike with a Tackform action camera handle bar mount.

@@RegularFootisChris The only action cameras I've used are the GoPro Hero 6 and Hero 9. The Hero 9 was a big upgrade from the 6 but its around 400.00 and that's not exactly budget friendly:( There are lots of reviews out there for less expensive cameras (DJI Osmo Action, Insta360 etc..) so hopefully you can find one that works for you.
