A quick video showing how I decorated my notebook holes before adding to a little notebook. Although I thought of this myself, I am not claiming I invented it. Crafters are very intuitive and come up with solutions to make their projects work. Please enjoy the project and make it your own.

What a beautiful journal! I love your cover. Did you watch a video to do that mod podge idea?
Mary, I used modeling paste on the cover. You can find it in the art supply section of Hobby Lobby. The technique has been around for years. My students loved doing it 20 some years ago. The ink is alcohol ink. I played around with the clear shoe polish a few months ago and found that I could do the embossing enamel on it and the heat the two together. I love the rustic effect of it instead of the solid gilding. I hope you have a play.

@@katcapa2367 when it comes to grunge I’m a natural. Barefoot child that was forced to take a bath on Saturday night. If only I still had those Friday night sheets. Can you imagine the journals I could make from those. Yep, a grungy journal maker in the making from childhood.

I can’t seem to get my eyelets to stay in spine. Are there different sizes?
@@RegenaWallace-ri1ds I used the big ones. After I put them in I squeezed them with my pliers. It makes the back smooth as well as securing them better.

Gorgeous journal Big Momma! It amazes me when you go down a new rabbit hole what you create, like the shoe wax with embossing powder. I really like how you fixed the bottom tuck page, and yes that bottom tuck deserved its own page, lol. I love the Marti buttons you stole 😂, poor Marti. Susan's lace is beautiful and I can imagine how lovely it would be to work with it. I love your stitched dandelions and I am going to incorporate that into my current journal. My mother used to make wine with dandelion flowers and burdock root - it was delicious; and I eat dandelion leaves in my salads. I love them. xoxo

Love your new technique! The problem with this is, that I want to touch it. I’m sure there is some crinkling sounds, and I want to see all the embroidery up close. Love it! It’s wonderful
