@@drabberfrog youtube process everything, so my AV1-encoded video gets processed again. When I'll be more "famous", youtube will show the original version, using the best codec: AV1. If I wouldn't upscale my videos to 1440p, youtube would show you the shitty version: AVC1 codec (h264)

I even wonder why doesn't every streaming service uses OPUS as audio codec, since it's basically the best lossy audio codec, in fact I encode my videos using AV1 and OPUS

@@typholhvhgod As you might have guessed, since Crysis 2 I'm playing using the Wayland session, on an Nvidia card. Since I have a laptop with hybrid setup (intel integrated gpu + nvidia gpu) the support for wayland mostly comes from the mesa driver (the frame pacing comes from the intel gpu, that synchronizes the frames since nvidia doesn't support implicit sync which is required if you don't want "half-drawn frames") and overall Pop!_Os has a really good testing process. Nvidia on it really works well, they even have a lot of tweaks to the OS such as a custom user-space scheduler (system76-scheduler) and default ZRAM compression. The scheduler is awesome: one day I was encoding a gameplay with HandBrake and I tried to play a heavy game... At first the game struggled but after 15/20 seconds the game was running well and the encoding was still progressing! The struggle came from a good part for the low amount of free RAM: I have 16GB but HandBrake that day was filling up to 8GB, the game was trying to fill 6GB, the GNOME session was filling 2.5GB and Firefox (for stress-testing ZRAM) with TWENTY heavy tabs opened was filling 12GB of RAM. ZRAM managed to compress all this down to 5GB, without making anything crash. If you want proof, I could make a video with this extreme situation!

You know what's awesome? I record everything on a GTX1050TI and since Crysis 1 remastered I'm recording constantly at 60FPS without problems! Audio issues? Gone Stuttering issues? Gone I use my channel to innovate my encoding skills too: my videos are all encoded using the AV1 encoder, since Crysis 3 I use the 10-bit version and that eliminates a lot of artifacts. Unfortunately youtube shits on all my work thanks to compression, but by encoding everything at 1440p (even if the source material is at 1080p) I'm forcing youtube to use a better encoder (VP9, the best one would be AV1 but I'd need a lot of popularity)

I've recently finished the game and every DLC. I fucking loved it! The DLCs adds so much depth to your character too, I prefer "Talkative Brady" by the way!

I work my ass off for encoding the videos in a way that youtube wouldn't compress it to a point of being garbage to watch, and it's paying off by the way. For example, a 20-minutes video takes 8 hours to encode, usually

Ugh, this video was recorded something like 10 times, in fact I finally managed to upload this video only a week later the first try because I kept dying on the damn boss. That's also why I was kinda rushing and I pre-fired a lot of corners.

Have you played Sniper Elite? Do you prefer to play in first or third person?

Alcatraz... I actually bought the two Crysis novels because there's the Alcatraz background and "his way" of seeing things, plus some off-screen stuff.

When I played Sniper GW Contracts I made damage on everything, just to check if I can :) Love that game. But Crysis was first game that I really enjoyed the gameplay. Now I'm back to the first part on PS4 and I'm having a great time.

I'm happy you liked it! That's actually the first game where I began to use a new recording method, A LOT more efficient and without audio issues (see: crackling and stuttering like in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3)
