1st time listener ! It sounds as if you ladies are interested in transparency in Commission agendas and "Business" ! Thank you for that.Even tho' I am a non resident what The Commission does and approves has a direct impact on me ,my property and my way of living !

Every city we show art in has a Downtown monthly Art Walk to draw crowds in. Businesses should show and sell local art kinda like the Wine Walk. Even open up some of the empty shops or show art in their window displays instead of just sitting there looking like a ghost town.

Perhaps a topic worth delving into is what the process would entail in securing a public referendum on establishing run-off elections in cases where there are multiple candidates for a position on the ballot and no one garners 50% of the vote.

There's no for sale sign here. Building homes on 6 lots would be better for the area as it would help boost the property value. If that is an option they should vote for that. There's pros and cons for both decisions. That lot has been. Sitting for sale for a few years with different realtors listing the property.

I love this! We can read about all of the topics these amazing ladies address, but actually being able to hear healthy conversation regarding such important topics is very helpful. I just watched for the first time and am very impressed by how informative and also pleasant this group of ladies is. The COO of Bizlinc stated that he opened membership to anyone. What was supposed to be for creating new businesses here in Lake Wales, now allows businesses from all over the state, and we pay for it.

This is awful. People in business trying to explode our nice country-like rural area! We live here because we like it that way, natural and lots of open spaces! That makes me so mad!!!!

It is very nefarious. A wolf in sheep's clothing. Being lead to slaughter. Bruce Francis is correct, it has been handled very poorly. Money is the end game not the safety or the safety of our residents in Lake Wales and Polk County. We could all be effected by this. Think chemicals people, please!

These people are trying to destroy our great town! We live here because we love it the way it is! Spread out, quiet, with farms, groves, etc. We don't want it to be all built up with these huge 'businesses', 'plants' and 'affordable' housing. These politicians and realtors want to ruin what we have (or don't have or want)! If you look around the country all these plants are going up in flames, polluting the ground, the water and the air.....this can't be coincidental and this is the last thing we need here! I certainly hope it is not allowed here!

You said the city meeting on May 2nd was at 6 AM Catherine. Is that the correct time?!

Thank you for getting this information out to the public. The meeting on Wednesday night at the Art Center, across from CVS on 60 is important. Please attend, get information and let the elected officials know how you feel.

Thank you for starting this important podcast. I am so disappointed by those who have underhandedly, for the last two years, quietly planned this huge industrial plant in our beautiful community of Lake Wales, Highland Park, Highland Park Manor and Babson Park, without an investigation of how this will effect our water system, air quality, traffic (trucks, trains, and cars), and so much more. So shameful to sneak it through knowing it would not be popular by our community!! I am standing against it. I’d hate to be known as one who let our city decline into an industrial city. I’d mostly hate to be the seller who decided to use their property to bring this about, because that will certainly happen. I’m sure there are other properties they can offer for this uncertain industrial plant. The scariest thing is that this is just the beginning! I pray the citrus growers will find other ways to use their beautiful properties. As Lake Wales Envision is working to improve our city, I’m sure these desperate property owners can work together with Envision to build up our city, not tear it down. I ask that the citrus owners get together and brainstorm with the city and it’s citizens on how to find ways to improve our city.

Makes me wonder whether it’s even worth having the Lake Wales Envisioned with our current commission! Not sure they are really on board with the community’s vision!
