Renault Scenic 2 window problems & door panel removal
Taking off the driver door panel to get at the window regulator motor controller and window clip.
Sorry, shot this in wide screen, but somehow it's been imported as a squashed up 4:3.
My driver window died last summer and I've been searching the forums to find out how to fix it, since it's obviously a fault in the power going to the motor.
Garages simply tell you that the whole lot needs to be replaced -- costing about £300!
If the window has dropped, but the motor still works, the a £5 clip on ebay will fix it. If the motor is dead, chances are that it is the motor controller that is faulty. This is the Temic clip on electronic module. A substitute or reconditioned one costs from £20 to £50 on ebay depending on how much functionality you want to restore.
The daunting part is getting the door panel off and back on.
But it is not as hard as you might think.
I managed it, and was able to replace the Temic controller with a substitute from Peter Callum on eBay for £23. It doesn't do "one touch", but at least it stops when the window reaches the top and same when the window reaches the bottom.
You do need to secure it into the cavity somewhere out of the way of the falling and rising window.

I have an issue where drivers window is working, but other 3 not , fuses ok , (wire seems to be added to drivers side window in the door stay plug and often comes loose) but I guess if drivers window works it's not the regulator right?.

Or they have separate regulators, if so why 3 windows?

Braw, that’s the exact info I need to be able to remove my door card. Probably would have broken the plastic clips if I didn’t see this video.

Hi, can I ask what was original issue? Is rear windows were working fine? Was the indicators flashing 3x when double locking? Many thanks

Thankyou for the guide. Followed carefully and took my time and it was fairly easy. Luckily I just needed to give the connections a clean with wd40 and it's working perfectly again. So Thanks to your guide I've probably saved myself a good £300 plus. 👍

Good video generally but I have a 2009 MK 2 Scenic and is like Add my comments here after replacing the regulator. Agree remove 5 screws indicated here. But before starting the work ensure you have a T8 Torx screwdriver or bit. Because my regulator was secured to the motor body by this one screw size. Not sure if the fastenings of all mk2 Scenics are the same. But this nearly stopped the job for me. Secondly I had difficulty separating the fabric door trim from the main plastic panel using trim tools. I found the best way was to release with trim tools as far as possible then hold the door handle and give a reasonable hard pull upwards to to release both pieces of door card panels/trim. I also didn’t need to remove the plastic door bin to remove the door card. Lastly the electric window didn’t work properly at first after fitting but after starting the engine and trying and powering the window up and down it began to work fine. Maybe it has some memory facility on it but I found it worked well in the end.

Thanks! Followed your instructions on removing the panel and as soon as I saw the part I just gave it an affirming wiggle and it has sprung back into life! Will hang onto the replacement for the time I need it...

What's that? Renault gets anally devastated because of one bad comment? Calling people to remove truthful comments? If you stop making shit cars then people won't be so mad at you.

After THREE years with a bloody rattle in the door thanks to Renault,, I followed your video, removed all, (good time to clean it as well, the material, and I found that Renault had NOT put back the one screw in the MIDDLE of the bottom of the door so the bracket the motor is on constantly rattled against the metal. I need not have removed the panel BUT had I not, and as you do, constantly hit the door whilst looking I would never have found it. MANY thanks for a great vid

Fantastic! Fixed my Scenic front passenger window with no dramas. Bought a replacement unit from eBay for £15.00 and thought it would only work via the passenger door switch, but works great from the driver's door too, just hasn't got 'one touch' fully open / closed feature which I can very easily live without!

In the lore of Scandinavia, Scotland, and Ireland, when God cast out the arrogant angels from heaven, they became the evil spirits that plague mankind, tormenting us and inflicting us with harm. The ones who fell into hell and into caves and abysses became devils and death-maidens.However, those who fell onto the earth became goblins, imps, dwarfs, thumblings, alps, noon-and-evening-ghosts, and will-o'-the-wisps.Those who fell into the forests became the wood-spirits who live there: the hey-men, the wild-men, the forest-men, the wild-women, and the forest-women. Finally, those who fell into the water became water spirits: water-men, mermaids, and merwomen. These angels were condemned to remain where they were, becoming the faeries of seas and rivers, the earth, and the air. faerie.monstrous.com/origins_of_fairies/fallen_angels.htm#ixzz3wWFDjWwC

The demon spirits are also the spirits of the Nephilim that walked the Earth before the flood, and after. They are half fallen angel, and half human or less.

Great video. Managed to get my window working after watching this and spraying WD40 into the connections. However, a week later and the problem returned with the window only going down even when pulling up on the switch! A new temec off eBay for £29 and it's working again. Let's see for how long!

Was actually very handy in removing the panel. All in all it came off very easily and quickly. However changing the gizmo attached to the motor, has not fixed the problem, and even connection a whole replacement window motor assembly has still not changed things. But great video non the less and most useful. Thank you.
