It's all about racing
Приєднався 19 лис 2019
This channel is non-sponsored and dedicated to sports car, Nascar and Formula One racing model car reviews from manufacturers such as Bburago, Mini Champs, Spark, Looksmart, TSM, HPI, Mini GT, IXO Tarmac Works and others. I provide you with up-close viewing angles and my honest opinions in regard to scale, presentation, finish and details in order to help you make informed purchasing decisions regardless of your budget.
As an avid race fan, I attend a number of US based race events such as Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, VIR, Road America and Petit Lemans at Road Atlanta and provide in depth looks at the race cars featured at these venues from series such as IMSA, SRO and the WEC. Thus, this channel is all about cars and racing. Comments and feedback are appreciated and will get a response. Please like and subscribe.

What's WRONG with Mini GT?
In this video, I look very critically at Mini GT in 1/64 scale. Mini GT is the sister company of TSM (True Scale Miniatures). They provide the least expensive collectors race cars in scale. While Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and others can be had for a few dollars, they are not accurate collectors cars. Mini GT is the least expensive in class ie. 10-15.00 USD and should be better models than they are.
This video explores what is good but more on what is WRONG with Mini GT.
I know that my views are controversial, but they are backed up with clear evidence in this video.
While TSM makes some of the best in 1/43 scale, sister company Mini GT makes some of the worse in class.

Color combination reminds me of these soda candies. I saw it several times on ebay and thought it was one of the most original, great job of spark on the presentation. The all painted rear part is neat, i recall not seeing many 720s gt3 with that particularity.

Its funny how we take whst we have for granted at times and dream about going to places sometimes out of reach. I'm fortunate to live in Virginia. Im.6 hours away from Watkins Glenn. 2 from VIR. 8 from Road Atlanta. 10 from Daytona and 15 from Sebring. I've also been to Road America, Nashville (indy) and Indianapolis. Have others on my bucket list including Le Mans. Glad to have another German on the channel. We can learn so much each other.
Awesome video...thanks for the mention in the video. That was surprising but cool to hear. Also love the candor and colorful language. Really do like these cars. The JDC Miller is still my favorite. A bit odd the photos are going a different direction to the cars in the box. Good catch on that. Okay so i learned a new term.. Pitot Tube? Is that the big aerial on top of the car? Never heard that term so that was cool to learn. What does it do? Again thanks for the mention I need to put out my follow up on the 963 LeMans version. Will check out your review first so it is not to much overlap. I have a concept I want to try on it related to the livery but will see if your video already covers that first.
You would be correct about the pitot tube. It is a devise that measures air speed going through its opening. Almost every big budget team in F1 and in Sports car racing that have the engineers and, equipment to make use of it. As GPS is not reliable at high speeds, teams use this. I also believe that they can be used to determine wind velocity as well, an important tool particularly in long distance racing when direction and speed of wind change over time. This is yet another innovation that racing has made use from the aerospace industry as every airliner make use of them.
@@markzebr6463 Very interesting. Now I will assume that is the frontal antenna on the F1 cars also. So same as I see on the front/side of airplanes. Learned something new today.
@@mycarcave6214 one of the things I love about connecting with reviewers on you tube is how much you can learn. I'm a sponge for information. You wouldn't believe how many books I have ordered in regard to F1. My UA-cam channel attracted thousands of viewers over my IMSA and WEC Paddock reviews. Prior to that I had about 300 subscribers. Over the race weekend I would pu 100 subscribers each day and finally 15,000 views. I even had one driver reply to me about the tour and I caught up with him at the next race. I've had drivers, crew members and team manager's give me team shirts...it's been crazy. This is what I love about sports car racing. Never had this experience in 20 years of supporting Nascar at my home track in Richmond.
@ that is awesome! Yes I have really enjoyed interacting with repeat viewers on youtube. Its been a chance to learn about different automotive disciplines as well as get insight on our hobby. I wish I had access to an F1 pit but thats never happening😆. Sports car racing is nice in that way. Really cool that team members and such have reached out since posting those videos. Your knowledge of sports cars is tops, I would not be able to speak to them as you can…but the point is to learn more about them.
@@mycarcave6214 Yes access to the paddock area is one of the coolest things about IMSA etc..Fans of F1 and Nascar enjoy even more as many of the drivers like Jimmy Johnson and Jenson Button race in the WEC and IMSA and finally accessible. The downside is the autograph hounds show up with a box of cars for them to sign, taking valuable time and denying others to get a chance. Then you will the stuff on Ebay. Hate it. The popularity of IMSA has skyrocketed with the new GTP Prototypes and the WEC with LMDH. Some races like the Daytona 24 have gotten so crazy that I told my ticket agent that I will come down for the Roar but am going to pass on the race. I'll watch on TV in the comfort of my home. January in Daytona often is not pleasant.
Thank you for the great narration and stats / trivia. I just love the 963... Only got a cheap Bburago model for now. Will check out the 1:16 review maybe it will get on next year's wishlist

They are great models no matter what scale or manufacturer. Wait until after Christmas when retailers such as Toronto Motorsports have great sales. If I can help in any other war feel free to reach out to: markzebr@gmail.com.
@@markzebr6463 In Germany CK Model cars is the place where I get my models. I have a 917 K from the Porsche museum (sadly the 963 was not shown there at the time) and a Ford GT40 both in 1:43 scale. I also saw that there are 963 1/64 models on the market for a few bucks. They have the 2023 Le mans livery on them but I have not found a video of them so far. Next on my list would be Grello 911 and Rexy 911 GT3 or RSR depending on year / championship.
@@Gerodon I suspect that you are German...how cool. I would love to visit the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart someday. When I was at the NA Porsche HQ in Atlanta back in October, their selection of Dealer Editions was thin as hell. You would suspect that they would keep making more as older models sell out. The 1/64 models are great and inexpensive, I did a video on them. I have the "Rexy" IMSA Porsche GT3. Hot wheels made a million of terrible models in 1/64, I wouldn't touch them. I have seen the Hot Wheels "RoxY" Porsche, a chase car, for well over 150.00 USD and still going...What idiots. The Spark and Sparky Porsche 911 GT3 R are replicas of the Le Mans entry. AO racing never had a Porsche 911 RSR as they only came out with Rexy at Sebring 2023, I was there.
@@markzebr6463 You assumed correctly :) True AO never had an RSR I forgot that Project 1 -AO was running Rexy at le mans in 2023 as an RSR. Spark and IXO both made models of that car. I was lucky to see the 50 years of the Porsche 917 exhibition when I was there in 2022 and saw the first 917, the Pig and many others. Really cool were the 919 and 919 tribute both uncleaned with dirt and rocks still in the diffuser. If you are in Stuttgard someday be sure to check out the Mercedes Museum as well. It had far more cars and in my opinion a better concept of showing the different years of automobiles. The Porsche Museum shop was alright in terms of selection but there were a lot of "standard" cars and only a few Race Car models
Have the same 963 models except I'm missing the white-fin one. Really like the look of these cars. It would be cool to always have both sister cars but at these prices its a though decision, cant buy everything. As mentioned on your channel before, that's an upside to buying cheap inferior brands. If you want both its not a big deal.
there are very few model cars that I have paid full retail for, even Porsche Dealer editions. I did pay full retail for all the Porsche 963s and several Porsche 911 RSR such as the "Good Bye" from the WEC and the "Thank You" from IMSA. Now 2 years later they have not been released in the standard Spark and maybe never will. Now the Porsche 911 RSR have been discontinued in 2022 and as they say "out of sight, out of mind" may affect the reproduction of those. However, the 963s will race for years to come and all of the Porsche Dealers, other then the Le Mans one have only been made in quantities of 2000. I'm told that most models are made in quantities of 10,000 or more. This is why I believe that Spark will come out with standard issues in time. The question is, how long?
Kenneth, my video of the "Good Bye" Porsche 911 RSR was called: A legacy through livery, and can be found in my Porsche 911 RSR playlist.
@@markzebr6463 I actually purchased both #91 and #92 RSR from the Bahrain race myself from the Porsche collection. It felt so significant.
@kennethmattsson880 oh my God. Agreed probably my favorite Porsche 911 RSR. Went nuts when I saw it available in Germany and paid a premium for it. No regrets.
@@markzebr6463 Seeing as both "Thank you" and "Goodbye" sit unsold in stores everywhere in Europe, sadly don't see Spark picking these up, however Ixo did both the Goodbye cars in 1:18 and 1:43 for those with a tighter budget. I can't though.... too much of a Spark snob and Ixo's decal placement has been let's say disappointing for me in the past.
We share a desire for the Mustang Sampling Proton 963. I think it is by far the best looking of the bunch. Have the Jota in 1:43 and this video convinced me i need more.
I love the white and green Proton 963 and can't wait for Spark to produce it, you know they will. My favorite however is the Hertz. There was the "Goodbye" Porsche 911 RSR from the last race of the WEC 2022 season. They only made 2022 cars of both the #91 and #92 car. My favorite Porsche ever. It wasn't available at my local Porsche dealer. Daily, I looked to see when Spark would make it and a year later, they did. Still available from Porsche Design for 95.00 USD plus shipping (from Atlanta). Check out my fantastic video on it. Spark also made the IMSA Porsche 911 RSR "Thank You" edition. This one is still widely available on Ebay. Also have a video on that.
My video of the "Good Bye" edition was called" A legacy from livery. An excellent video of both cars. It can also b found through the Porsche 911 RSR playlist.
@@markzebr6463 i have the goodbye #92 in 1:18 and the Thank You set in 1:43 both are absolutely gorgeous liveries. I'm still considering the Thank you in 1:18 but that is an arm and a leg. The white and green Proton is confirmed, but still no Mustang Sampling.
@@13thMonkeyz I'm impressed, you should do videos. I would have bought the "Thank You" set but already had both in Porsche Dealer Edition (Its still available on Ebay. If and when either of us see them out, let's communicate. Thanks.
They are glorious Mark!👌Can’t wait for the official Spark (as opposed to dealer) ones to arrive.
Spark is slow to distribute those but always do. A retailer told me that he never orders the Dealers Edition as they asking price is so high that he can't sell them and make the margins necessary. Patience young jedi, they will come soon to your galaxy.

@@andymuggeridge7588 Outstanding...Have concerns as to whether or not they update, particularly if they have to update the molds (very expensive). If I see it, will let you know.
Nice bike… I spent most of 2024 off the bike unfortunately but working to get back in to it. Picked up my first mtb so a little distracted from road biking with the mtb. I ride a Specialized with Shimano components. I do not ride as much as you but I am surprised how often you have charged your bike. I feel like I do it 1-2 times a year. That said I have been caught when it died….also ya tubless is a pain. I went to tubes shortly after I picked up my bike….the mtb is tubeless (used) so good leaks out the tire after a day or two. Probably a sign the tires ae toast and dry rot is setting in😅
Scary how much we have in common. I have now had mine for 2 years, I think. Problems have to do wirh the Sram front derailure, could just be unique to mine. That being said, never SRAM again. My headset has cracked as well, common I'm told and removal and replacement difficult because of house brand. Looking back. Should have bought a Trek.
@@markzebr6463 yes totally! I sent you an email so may be in your spam but now you have my contact info. obviously, you were not..just the latest. Your viewing prompted me to watch the video again on my new 32-inch monitor. I also have the IMSA #44 Archangel NSX. I was very disappointed that the side vents were painted black, no texture like in this model and one of them not even painted. Thanks for taking me back,.
Awesome version this! I hoped someone would make a video of it! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed. Spectacular model. Do you know anything about 7 Collection.?
Interesting
Interesting and weird. Having collected almost 400 model cars from all race car manufacturers, I'd thought I'd seen it all. Next time I'll be seeing pink elephants no no that would be Iron Dames.
avoid global64, qc is all over the place with both global and hobby, stick to mini gt for most if not all of your needs, tarmacs are on average double the price of mini gts and detail is slightly better, only on hobby64 though, global is closer to premium hot wheels
I agree with all of your points. However, Tarmac Works Hobby64 provide phenomenal detail, unique packaging, bases and jewel covers. Also, quality control is excellent. Check out my Mini GT Brands to collect. Thanks for watching and your intuitive comments.
After thinking about your feedback, it prompted me to do a video on "What is WRONG with Mini GT. Parent company TSM make great models, some of the best, in 1/43 scale. But I feel that their 1/64 cousin have a lot be desired. Granted they are much less expensive and as you will see in many cases it is apparent. It is scheduled to come out in a week.
That is a bizarre car and model. I was going to guess Minichamps as others have confirmed. They along with Kyosho made a lot of the BMW dealer editions over the years. Like the flip box presentation. Unique for sure. Car looks like an upgraded version of the 1998 car but is not the Factory 1999 upgrade winning car. Typical customer car modified to improve but not exceed the factory version;)
Look at you...knowing a bit about prototypes. Both you and Steve have said the same thing. Therefore, I'm inclined to believe that you are both right. I just uploaded a review of both Penske Porsche 963s. One of them had a missing rear internal support rod. Found when I opened the sealed acrylic cover. I've never had a broken part of any Spark 1/43 not Formula One. Very surprising.
@ hahahaha….I am learning! will check that video out… I would guess at 1/43rd things stay put a bit more but I feel a good amount of the rear wings on my Spark LeMans cars arrive broken, and for awhile any Minichamps resin F1 car had broken front wings. It has been less of a problem lately. The 1/18th Porsche GT1-98 in my recent video had broken rear wing end plates ans wing was off the upright supports. Had to fix it for the video. Not sure why I did not when I bought it years ago. Hahaha
@@mycarcave6214 Funny you mention that specifically. My upcoming Penske Porsche 963 video had one the cars clearly missing a rear support strut (internal) when I opened the car (live) from the base, I found it. Then lost it trying to apply. Was glad I lost it as probably would have done more harm applying. In a few days I have another video entitled "What's wrong with Mini GT." I think you will find it interesting and controversial.
Yea this is why I buy Bburago. Way better for your money and really nice. They stepped up a lot!
It is a whole new ballgame in formula one, particularly in regard to Ferrari with Looksmart being so expensive.
This is actually a 1998 V12 LM, with a partial LMR front - it's not equivalent to the updated LMR that won in 1999. Definitely a Minichamps - underneath the cardboard base I expect would be a normal Minichamps base with the plastic prongs poking through holes in the cardboard. I have this model but in a standard Minichamps box. I wasn't aware that Steve Soper (touring car legend) drove this in '99. The LM that ran under the works team in 1998 looks better I think and it has the original front as well.
Based on your advice and my curiosity, I removed it from the base...what a nightmare (getting it back on will be worse). It indeed is a Mini Champs although it claims to be a 1999 on the base was well. The pictures that I found online also say 1999. Seeing as your right about almost everything related to cars and model cars, I'm going to go with you.
That is the darndest thing...very weird. Did get it back on its base..pain in the ass.
@@markzebr6463 it ran in 1999 but it's a 98 car, with a 99 style front nose. If you compare this to the 98 car, you'll see the body is the same, aside from the very front. The V12 LMR from 99 has a different body shell.
Your guess was right, it is a Minichamps production. Such a neat way of packaging it.
You are so right. I did something I almost never do, removed it from the base. Sure enough, Mini Champs. It even roles, Spark never do. I will probably never get it back on the base as the base is a nightmare from hell. Who thinks this stuff up?.
The model will be as good as any other and it will likely go up in value. This just brings back bad memories personally - regardless of what happened over the season, that final race was a travesty. Whilst it wasn't Verstappen's fault of course (although my distain for the man remains strong given all his other BS), the way it panned out was ridiculous.
Even when I was a fan of Nascar, I tried not to get attached to any driver (of which was easy to do). This is one of the reasons that I like sports car racing. Enjoy the cars and forget the drivers. As I only really started following Formula One this year and collecting just a few months ago, I have developed no attachments. Heck, I just love the cars and liveries and have not bought a car yet that I don't like with the exception of one Mini Champs (still hate the checker board bases). I don't recall you doing much Formula one....I may have to go and watch your videos for the umpteenth time.
Another great video. That base is crazy big. Curious how you display your cars? In the case stacked or off the base in a display cabinet? Love the Max v Lewis background card. We all remember that race and as a person who probably never felt sorry for Lewis and did not in the moment… hindsight I have a different perspective. On the barge board they technically ended when the cars changed in 2022. The way I think about it is does it look like it was added on or was it molded into the floor. So all of that “add on” between the front wheels and radiator intake is more or less barge board. In 2022 it is molded into the floor and thus considered part of the floor or floor fence. On the black winglet on the air intake inlet. That is a tv camera. Same as the t shaped one on top. They use them for different views and sometimes they are dummy cameras. Meaning I am sure someone complained they had extra weight and the camera was messing up airflow relative to their competitors so now they put them on every car regardless if they are broadcasting. Also Skyview in Europe has a service where you can follow any driver so maybe they are active on all cars these days?
Thanks again for answering my current questions. I'm sure that I will have more questions coming up as I have F1 cars from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2019 not to mention Niki Lauda's 1972 March 721. In regard to display, I don't have much for 1/43. My Nascar collection takes up one wall with hats and other memorabilia. Office work desk and 1/64 another wall and framed autographed posters another. 1/18 scale are on my work desk, only (4). My man cave is occupied by my son as he is back home working on his Masters degree in chemical engineering. When my wife finds out how many cars I have hidden away, divorce is probable. By the way, I loved your video of the Porsche 963s. As I mentioned, it encouraged me to have a 2nd, 3rd and 4th look at all of the cars an even the two IMSA Penske Porsches that I haven't even opened or reviewed yet. Like you, I buy in batches and steals that I can get on Ebay. Got (2) this week.
@@markzebr6463 Always happy to answer what I can. I was looking at a 2005 F1 year book and thinking I need to do some old car reviews. I love that period more than current cars. Trust me I told my wife when we started dating that I had a "small" car collection...she reminds me all the time she had no clue it would blow up to what it is now!!! No one would marry me now! The 963's are really nice. I love the JDC Miller car. Stupidly I realized I bought a Penske WEC version at the same time but was in a second box that arrived a month later and I opened it after I made the video. Have an idea on how to make a video on that one as well. I am feast or famine with purchases. Nothing between May and Oct now feels like new ones weekly. Just saw a bunch of 2024's are out from Spark and the Ferrari from Look Smart. Trying to hold off for a year end discount at least. Looks like 2022 was Spark, 2023 was Minichamps, and now 2024 will be Spark since they are out first. Will keep me busy during the winter. Keep buying and posting I enjoy your channel and the hobby. I saw you have bike I need to check that review out...its my other hobby!
Drop me a line at markzebr@gmail.com. would love to chat, cycling and collecting.
Hahaha incredible man, I was checking out this exact model because it's on a nice sale and thinking of buying it
At 59.99 plus shipping it is a steal. Get it before its gone.
Show us real 1/18 models, not little toys!
If you any of these models in 1/18 scale, MY CONGRADULATIONS, if not....well you know what to do.
Sorry guys, comments were turned off due to my labeling this video as being suitable for children. That has been withdrawn so, let me know what yoiu think. A couple of you had indicated that you didn't like it. Please share with me why, as I can help learn.
Awesome lineup. Thank you for the recommandation, i will watch the reviews for each character. This is a change in terms of designs. Thank you for your videos that keep me company tonight. my mental state is degrading and torturing me so i try to watch miniatures and interacting, i started working on the review of a gilett vertigo but this is getting worse so i stopped. Sadly, but the dedicated work is appreciated
Patito..reach out to me at markzebr@gmail.com. let's talk.
The new black & green stake won my heart in terms of looks. Congrats on the addition of this, substantially different that the big alpine u saw on my video despite being of the same year, including the sliced air intake. Nice
I'm a huge fan of green as it is rare in Motorports and have my eye on that model as well. As for the Alpha, you got to love Valteri and wish him the best after all those years serving Sir. Lewis.
Another good model. Great to see them in 1/43 v the 1/18th I am collecting. Again great insight on the race history and details on what Alfa actually contributed to the car...I assumed it was just the sticker! 😆. Off topic question...what size jpg in pixals are you using for your thumbnails? I can't get mine to cover the entire space. Driving me nuts.
I hate to admit that I am a no skill reviewer. I have to use what UA-cam gives me and have gotten use to what they look for. It's not always what I would like but hope that content and good looks at aspects of the cars make up for it. I started doing reviews as a new collector because I saw few people doing it and wanted more for what I did see. I saw reviewers that had phenomenal technical skills but little useful commentary or spending 15 minutes discussing sponsors as opposed to thoughts about the car itself as I wanted direction toward buying cars. My Paddock Tours ended up being my most successful work. much to my surprise. Some viewers commented that despite my obvious lack of technical skills. that it was just like walking around the paddock as sharing my observations with them. My purpose was to share the sights with folks that may watch the race on TV or UA-cam but never get a chance to see a race. Others have been inspired to go to races and have met with me. Now when I go to races, I spend time with them and their friends taking them around an introducing them to folks that I know. One of them even took me to see Richard Petty as she knew him personally. In 20 years of attending Nascar races, I never met him.
Great looking model. I agree Bottas is underrated.I have two Bottas cars from the 2022 season, First is from the Bahrain GP as yours but mine is a Minichamps. The second one is a Spark from the Emilia Romagna GP. As a Spark snob I rate the Spark a little bit higher but both are fine models. I rarely buy Minichamps but got a really good deal on it.
Always nice to know another Spark snob as there are probably more than we could ever imagine. Yes, I do have a couple of Mini Champs as well. But will always choose Spark first. I love this livery and must admit that I wish Bottas had a better car. He served Hamilton well and deserves a shot for himself.
Nice one. I have this in 1/18th scale.
I'm envious. Would prefer 1/18 but don't have the space for 400 models. Of the 4 1/18s I have, love em. Nothing looks better. Thanks for watching.
@@markzebr6463 I don't have a lot of 1/18th scale cars either. I have 14 of them, and I have both race cars and supercars. The rest of the collection is 1/43 scale.
You should post a video of your collection.
Great video…love the Alonso car with three figure. I agree Alpine is one of the better liveries on the grid in my opinion. The detail at 1/43 has gotten really good. Spark Snob … that is awesome…I am a confessed Minichamps Snob at the 1/18th scale. 2022 was heavy on Spark and 2023 was the opposite mostly based on who released the models first…waiting to see who will be the first to issue the 2024’s in 1/18th…outside Bburago which already has the Ferrari’s out and an RB in 1/24. More F1.. I will be tuning in.
Thanks. You have not only been an inspiration but a great source of information. Glad that we have gotten to know each other.
I have the hachette version of this, which I did a bit of work on to improve but the proper version is a clear improvement. The wheels are so much better which makes a big difference. If you can, get a small dob of red paint to fill in that small decal chip by the tow hook on the front. It should ideally have the bottom part of the 'h' from Shell also but a small dab of orangey red paint will make it stand out a bit less.
All good points. I think white cars, despite manufacturer, tend to be the most problem prone. Thanks again.
Salut super car suprem video subscribe subscribe ❤❤🎉🎉😊😊
Thanks
I ordered this exact model after watching your video, honestly the IXO Porsche GT3 series are outstanding value for money, great detail and inexpensive
First, thanks for watching. Secondly its rewarding to know that my review helped you to make a great purchase. IXO make great models for the money. I have a few that almost as good as Spark. The Porsche 911 RSR is my favorite all time race car. It has a sound that is amazing, you tube videos do it no justice. You have to hear it person to appreciate. This livery is one of my favorites as it is timeless. Have fun collecting.
@markzebr6463 absolutely a truly amazing car and great livery that is a replica of the 1998 Le Mans winner Porsche GT1 car. Great channel! Thanks
@ahmadelmir39 welcome..glad to have you.
I almost bought this exact model but my OCD kicked in and I refused to buy a spark model on a high plastic base that chips away from the Spark elegance, that's why I refuse to pay premium for Minichamps
I have a video called "Are you a Spark snob." It was done as a joke but, I must admit that I am. I started collecting IXO as a less expensive alternative to Spark. However, Spark mostly makes a superior product and I have managed to make great purchase almost as cheap as IXO. As for Mini Champs in 1/43 race cars, only two. Both were exclusive Audi Collection models were sold as Spark, but were not and are not as good as Spark. I have only a couple of Min Champ F1 models. The quality varies and the bases suck. I will not be buying anymore Mini Champs.
I've been curious about this old brand.
Good for the money but, not Spark quality more like IXO. Hard to find as well. If they have want you want...go for it.
Great video…love the technical history of the car. The color of this RB is one of my favorites. Not a huge fan of the modern mat finishes so revisiting this one is great. Sorry to see a missing part not represented by the seller. I admit to touching my models and they break but that should be represented by the seller. Having looked at my 1/18th and now your 1/43rd it does appear Spark got it correct contrary to my personal recollection from seeing them race. Width and height were more defined than length giving flexibility in wheel base and overall car length during that period. I think the front wing can only extend a certain distance from the centerline of the wheel but the nose had to be a max height off the ground so RB, and others, where forced to add extensions to the nose of the car. Sauber, McLaren, Caterham, Lotus…frankly everyone but Merc and Ferrari had some bizarre protrusion. Google the Caterham or Lotus…weird…wish they had made them in 1/18th.
Thanks for all of your feedback. If I can find another model of this car, I will pick it up. Being a perfectionist, this really bother me. Thanks again.
Although a nice f1, sucks for the broken parts. The car being off scale can be a optical effect since it don't have the same nose style as the mercedes, i could be wrong, but as u said f1 became longer after time, especially around 2020 and now. I got 3 new 1/43 on my way (i change habit like i change clothes). Sigma MC74 from spark, and Lexus Sc430 + transformers nissan gtr gt300 from super gt, good deal from ebbro 20e each, a bargain. Cheers
I reached out to "My car Cave" as he does a lot of F1 reviewees and has hundreds of F1 cars. He went back through his collection and confirmed that the RB10 is indeed shorter than the Mercedes. That made me feel a little bit better. I just get annoyed with broken F1 cars. I have only one race car that arrived damaged. In the short time that I have amassed F1 cars, several. They are very intricate and fragile. But, they are gorgeous and worth collecting.
@@markzebr6463 any car is worth collecting as long as its speaks to you😉, (and if its a spark of course), glad u got ur answer. Posts can be a pain sadly. Everything depends on how the package has been treated its like playing Russian roulette.
Agreed
I got this car today
Congrats..ts a great car. Cost about 75.00 back in th day...
@@markzebr6463it was 10$ for me
The Lamborghini with the "target" livery is a tribute to the BMW M1 ProCar racer with the BASF livery from about 1981. I love that scheme. But that Porsche 963 is awesome.
Yes. Thank you. I do recall seeing that. I guess that makes it a classic livery....
U got a honest replica of a historic car and model! Congrats. I love seeing french sponsors on these like skyrock which is a pretty popular dance radio here. Funnily this exact same courage is planned to be re-released by spark in 1/18 modern quality in the next months i will let u know informed if i pick it up and do a review of it to have a comparison.
Glad you enjoyed. I'd be interested in seeing if and when Spark make this model again. Take care.
Great video! I’ll be attending my first IMSA race next year!
Thanks. Which race will you be attending? Your going to love it regardless. My Favorites are: Sebring, Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans
@ Petit Le Mans!
If interested, let's catch up. You're gonna love it..make sure you come all week
Enjoyed the video, neat little top 11. The Brumos livery was used in 2019 for Daytona, Sebring, CTMP and Watkins Glen, also raced at Le Mans as the #93 and #94. 2019 Coca Cola was for Petit Le Mans only. The other races of the season they referred to the 2017 919 livery. Really like both the Wall Racing BASF Lamborghini and the GEAR The 963's are almost must haves really... have the JOTA from 2023 in 1:43, but at the moment all my money goes to 1:18 RSRs recently scored the 2014 Daytona GTLM winner and in talks about the 2013 Le Mans LMGTE winner. Also have the TSM Rexy in 1:18.
Envious. Would love to collect 1/18. I have only 4 models. Too expensive but more importantly too big. Detail is so much better. Porsche 911 RSR is my favorite. Sounded amazing and the works team had large assortment of great liveries that we will probably never see again. Thanks for your feedback
Bang - started in 1990, following on from Box models. Ceased production in 2005. Did some nice 50's Ferraris.
Thanks for the Info. You seem to he the only person of whom knows anything about Bang. How many of their cars do you have? I'm gonna suspect some Ferraris.....
I had the same bike, loved it but had to send back to canyon after six months due to warranty issue with the headset /stem bolt.
may have to do the same even though its been almost 2 years. Still love the bike.
I like this car. It´s a old spark model very rare I guess.
I beleive that it is one of the first Spark models produced based on details and packaging. Not a bad model just not up to Spark models today.
Mark. Going into one of your nascar reviews because i would love to collect one of those cars. I have absolute zero knowledge about this motorsport but their design, uniqueness grew on me and i have to admit it i love their aura, pilots, tracks, ambience.. old box standard american sedans is my thing im a freak for those oddities. frankly in france its virtually unknown so finding models is hard. I just found somebody that sells 1/7 of 1/18 scale replicas for 100euro each, im not sure if its a competitive price. Frankly im turned off by the scale being mainly 1/24, i would like to expose it next to my other race cars to have a varied cast and even buy a display case for it
Hi Patito. First, in regard to pricing. When I bought these 1/24 scale models I would pay between 50.00 to 100.00 each. This was back when Nascar was at its most popular. Today, Nascar is not popular, for example. Richmond Internation Raceway, my home track, used to seat 100,000 people and was a sellout. Today, it seats less than 40,000 and attendance is so poor that in 2025, it would have one race, it used two per year. In regard to the 1/24 scale models. The stuff they make today is nowhere as detailed as the models that I have. And even still today, on Ebay these models can be had for a fraction of what I paid for them. They are basically worthless due to the 10,000 made of each and the unpopularity of the sport today. I have not been to a race in 6 years and the track in Richmond is less than 25 miles away. 100.00 Euros is a rip-off in my opinion. I couldn't give my collection away and the packaging is so large and shipping so expensive, I have never even considered it. If you lived closer, I would sell you mine for pennies on the dollar. Please don't pay 100.00 euros per model. As for scaling, I believe the only models available are 1/24 and 1/64. I bought 1/24 because of the size and incredible detail. The reasons I quit going to Nacar races were multiple. First was that I discovered sports car racing ie. IMSA, WEC and SRO. When I first went to Nacar races in the 80's, INDY Car Racing were the support series. Talk about a great double header. Secondly had to do with cost, scanner availability and access of which got worse and even worse. Nascar did everything they could make profit, fuck the fans over and attract a younger fan base, forgetting the folks that made them billionaires. And the racing got shitty and drivers even more arrogant and less accessible. In fact, I think books have been published about the fall of Nascar. I could go on and bore you to death. Enjoy the cars as they are cool and if old races are available on UA-cam check em out. IE: I would give 20 years of watching Nacar twice a year to see Le Mans once. I'm envious of you living in France,
Check out my entire collection, Ive got about 75 Nasar videos. The Loony Tube collection is the best. You can find it on my playlist. Check it out and let me know what you think. I will also be doing a Top 10 Nascar video in a couple of weeks. Have the best of 1/43 and 1/64 coming up. Your the first to know.
Sorry for the delayed answer. Very busy week, thank you for the detailed answer. I perhaps misjudged since 1/24 is the most popular in nascar indeed, dont wanna go back to something smaller. Apparently they didnt produced 1/18 since 2006. Maybe the camaro Nascar from garage56 will be the closest possible to a new release. Will check out your looney tunes aswell as ur new videos. Cheers
@@patito8728 You will love the Lonny Tunes. Dale Sr. and Dale Jr. are the two most popular of the Nascar cars. You would think that Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson would be favorites but, not so. My Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the most popular of my Nascar collection of which is pretty extensive. The quality of the Nascar models of the 90s to the 2000s are exceptional and nothing made today comes even close. Enjoy.
Awesome!, Still have the original souvenir program, it has a picture of all the selected cars on the cover, really cool artwork, recently inspired me to collect them all as well, thinking of doing the same 4 other programs I have as well.
Have you managed 0:23 to get the cars? This was the race really turned me on to Nascar.

That's hard af
great model. I've seen sales on Ebay for about 150.00.
I have wondered, how do you display your models? Do you have a wall mounted display case or a big cabinet?
great question. I have 3 acrylic wall cabinets for my 1/24 Nascar collection (first collection) a small similar cabinet for my 1/64 race car collection and another small unit for 1/43. I have so many 1/43 cars, over 300, there is not enough current space. We have another room that I will convert to a man cave in the near future to house all of the cars. Thanks for tuning in.
That's a pretty cool livery.
Yes, It was heavily bid over, on Ebay, and cost me more than I wanted. But, it was worth it.
Macau never fails to deliver great liveries and since Spark is from Macau they are always heavily involved.
Is Tarmac works from Macau as well? They always sponsor a couple of cars....
@@markzebr6463 They are from next door ;-) Hong Kong

Less there are. I salivate over 1/18 all of the time. Just no room.
