As a Trini living in Brazil for many years, I say hats off to you my Caribbean brother. You traveled a road that leads to a kind of happiness few will understand. Continued success to you 🙏.
Very hard to open a business in Brazil. Very challenging due to stupid government rules, but that is why competition is low. Unlike the US which is super over saturated.
💯 %Valter.
My ppl ❤ please show shipping records from Africa dates in the African ancestors name. Otherwise we are just American Indians aka marooon aka brown not African.
Cool but a little misinformed the only objective was to kill of the so called natives. To set up the new world away from the yoke of the European kings. Further more we got to distinguish between what made the slaves that were left on Curacao and many of the islands had nothing to do with physical challenges. It had to do with being a Muslim or not in fear of their writing skills and religion under one God was to much of a risk to take on the main land of South America. So they rather kept these slaves on the islands for a full generation. Fun fact is that pork meat is most populair in these islands where the former slave population come from Muslim dominated countries in Africa😜
Aprendi muito com seu video. Abraços aqui do Brasil 🖤🇧🇷
Que bom Cristina, fico feliz que você gostou do vídeo
I'm proud of my jamaican brother i wonder if he gets a lot of customers. He is very ambitious.
Nice to see the national instrument of trinidad and tobago the creators of the steel pan getting recognize
It's a self-produced video that I chose to make, focusing on Roy Geddes, a notable pan musician from Guyana. It is not about the history of pan or Trinidad and Tobago's role in creating the instrument.
@@nigelsim2540 I understand, and much respect to him. But I don't agree with him saying that steelpan does not belong to Trinidad and Tobago. It does sir, that's like saying reggae does not belong to Jamaica. What he should have said was Trinidad and Tobago created steelpan and gave the world the latest instrument. He knows this. Having said that as a black man, it's good to see us black people promoting the instrument. Because next thing you know white people will be telling us where it came from and that will be an atrocity my friend.
@@pacos999 The fact that he literally said pan was first started in Trinidad and Tobago has me confused about what point you're trying to make. You're focused on what he said rather than the underlying message, which is clearly the expansion of pan culture and that it exists for the world to enjoy. It's not a guarded movement, same as reggae music, and I say this as a Jamaican. His choice of words not aligning with your preferred phrasing sounds like a semantic argument and unnecessarily divisive over someone who has contributed positively toward black/Caribbean culture for decades. So I'll have to respectfully disagree.
@@nigelsim2540 yes he said that it started in Trinidad and Tobago, but it does not belong to Trinidad and Tobago, go review your video. So who does it belong too?
@@pacos999 You're stuck on that from this entire video? Never mind then, I have nothing further to add.

@@nigelsim2540 thanks
Some additional information. They didn't leave the least attractive enslaved people behind on Curacao. But the ones that were too weakened by the transatlantic passage to survive an additional sea trip to other different islands or countries.
Brilliant content!

Roy Geddes taught me how to play steel pan. It was the best outlet for me as a kid. I always wondered about him and the crew. They all knew who I was.
Cool story man. I could tell he had an impact on a lot of people's lives.

Nice history lesson. Do you know how the Ndyuka got their name? Are they also named after a river?
Apparently they settled on the Tapanahony river, so I'm not sure where they name comes from.
@@nigelsim2540 OK. Thx
NDyuka is derived from the name of the creek Joeka (pronounce Dyoo- Kah) near their initial settlement. They also refer to themselves as Okanisi, or Aukaners (Dutch name) which is derived from the name of the plantation the first group fled from, plantation Auka. Sometimes people like to state that Ndyuka was derived from "Dyu (=Jew) and "Ka"(= poop, or rather the bad word for poop..:-) ). But this simply isn't true. It's also erroneously believed that Aukaner or Okanisi is derived from the word Akan. The Akan are a West African ethnic group.
Nice ❤
Awesome history lesson . Thanks for the enlightenment from a U.S. Seminole Maroon descendent .

Amazing, I’m glad I found this video , planing to go to Africa in July with my husband. Now , I need to do some changes on my planning because this video . We were thinking on Uganda too but with the pandemic we are don’t really know how hard this will be . I can’t stop thinking on the people of the village, the dance , the gorillas , landscape... I really want to make this happen. I love aventures , the real authentic stuff. thanks so much for sharing . By the way, I’m a samba dancer in US , I go to Rio every year to dance at the Sapucai. Samba , Animales, Nature , aventures and humble people this are the things that make me happy the most . Obrigada.
That's awesome. I think the park is open again now, but yeah I'm not sure how difficult the logistics would be. It's great that you go to Rio. Hopefully it recovers soon after this tough time.
Quick note: Africans were not chosen over the amerindians because of their strength! Natives were chosen over Africans as slaves in some cases. Like in the Inca territories, where Africans found it imposible to cope in such extreme altitudes. Africans were chosen for many reasons. For example, their familiarity with some of the crops the Europeans wished to trade. Moreover, they were less likely to rebel as the likelihood for survival in what was for them a foreign land was slim as they were faced with all sort of challenges they wernt equipt to face on their own. Again thank you for you video! Just throwing more info for whoever wants it.
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the input.
