Honestly it looks like alot of unnecessary shit which can be done alot easier
Although driver looks very experienced. This can stress the tow truck out significantly overtime. Cause damage to concrete, wheel lift, etc.
Good way to get a damage claim for scratched or chipped concrete, Or worse on hot asphalt. Best bet is skates or neutral overrides.

As a tow truck operator and owner, I would never let my drivers do this to our equipment.

I prefer skates if needed but alot not all cars can be flipped into neutral. This maybe effective but it puts a lot of stress on the hydraulics. And truck itself. Protect your equipment put in some work your truck will last longer and cost less in maintenance.

It's not so much the insurance they won't cover mechanical failure. Its about cost savings on constant repair work.

Nice work, just one thought on unloading- Instead of freespooling your winch and letting it slide off the way you did, after slicking the wheels with your wd40 or soap, slide the deck back far enough to clear the rail guides behind the cab, then tilt the deck up pretty steep and winch it down the deck until the front tires are just hanging over the edge of the deck. Now when you extend the deck to the ground, the wheels will be touching just enough that you can continue the way you did without risking the car sliding off too fast and causing any damage to the front end, or the transmission.

Where's your tri pod I take it you took the front safety straps off before recording and unhooking the car wasn't good could've raised your bed up shook the car to the edge while hooked and make sure the is in the center of tire then lower bed so tires touch ground that walking truck from underneath car is ok but if you know your truck you could drive your truck from underneath it to the rear tires move your bed out

Good job getting it done. At one point you have to drag the car cause it’s not in neutral so skates, WD40 or another slippery substance would definitely help with that process.

Ive never used DW40 lol all i do is tilt my bed ALLLL the way up and let the weight of the car slide it down till the (in this case) front tires were on the ground . 👍🏽

True story. This woman was living with my sister for years because she couldn't make it on her own. I barely know this woman (I very briefly met her way back in 2012, and I haven't seen her since), and somehow, her troubles are affecting MY life! Her car broke down, and she couldn't be bothered to call the tow truck herself, so she had my sister and brother-in-law do it for her. My sis and brother-in-law knew the tow truck driver, but he (the tow truck driver) mistakenly thought they all lived with me, so he came over to my house and mistook MY car for the woman's car! I was dead asleep and didn't hear him knocking. (I'm a night owl) Since my car was locked and he couldn't get the key, he had to winch my car onto his flatbed while it was in park! My brother-in-law came over just in time because my car was fully strapped on the flatbed by the time he got here. He had to knock on my window to wake me up. This all happened last week, and I've been paranoid about my car since. So far, everything seems to be okay, but I'm still worried. I'm scared to go on my 12-hour drive now. I don't know a whole lot about cars, but my car is a 2014 Honda civic. I don't know if my car has a safety feature that automatically disengages the parking brake while being winched or not.

@@CarlosSanchez-hs2xy Yeah. Long story short, my car was mistakenly towed, and I was worried that it might've damaged my transmission and drivetrain.
Well im no expert, ive been towing 6 months and a mechanic 10 years. I'll say 99.9% chance it's totally fine. Dragging a vehicle a short distance rarely causes damage. It should still be avoided for that .01 chance something happens. If there was drivetrain damage it would have been obvious by now. Sorry that happened to you, that's definately annoying. But you don't need to lose any more sleep on it.
@@grigorirasputin996 Yeah, I took it to the Honda dealership and had them look at it because my car would sometimes shake a bit when slowing down. It turns out that both my front and back tires just needed to be realigned. I don't think it was the tow truck driver's fault, though, because he only kicked my front tires, not the back ones.

Excellent video man! I have a question though. How would you go around offloading a FWD car that you had to pick up from the front and no skates available (Hypothetically)
Well very easy look at the Chanel and do the opposite of how this one goes off the bed
Or just carry a jug with you that has diesel in it and put it on the tires and do this technique
You can use soap and water or any slippery substance like WD40 and just slide the car off

Great work on the slide let it go a little farther let the wheel roll off the bed slightly with your cable still attached so when you set it down you won't have to scrape the ground some shops or residences wouldn't appreciate the scrapes! stay safe keep hooking! 👍🇺🇸

Don’t lower ur bags ,hit your PTO and pull your air brake,But “do not hit the button to lower the air bags” and you will be fine
You should lower your bags tho if you're putting your bed down
So it matters which direction you load it on the truck to get it off with no neutral ?
Well you always wanna try to get it from whatever wheels are not locked it’s a front wheel drive try to get it from the back first so that way your wheels that are locked are closer to the edge of the bed and it will be easier to unload
But for whatever reason you can’t get it from the side that the wheels are free from either use your skates I’ll put some soap and water WD-40 to slide it down
Ove been learning this and always get the bed to steep any advice
