I read the novel when about ten years old and loved it. I hadn't realised the BBC had made an adaption of it but just recently watched the whole series on the BBC iPlayer. It's very well done and catches the spirit and tone of the book, the mystery and magic and wonder of the adventure the children experience. The credits, especially the closing ones, brought me to tears in their beauty.

It was repeated on BBC 4 this weekend. Took me back to a happy place, this.

Ive recently got the Blu Ray so will be watching it sometime in December. I was only 5 in 1984 but I can remember watching it. It def gets you in the mood for Christmas, also The original Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe from 1988.

BBC4 channel it's being shown for the 40th Anniversary starting Dec 7th 7pm UK - I have the dvd but be good to watch it as if airing for the first time especially as my dad was the one who got me into it as he remembers watching it when it came out all those years ago and it's one of our things we love that makes us feel Christmassy! 😁 The wolves are running 🐺
