They could make it so DoH jobs are able to change class restrictions on clothing, making them one of a kind. There are pieces currently in the game that are identical in appearance but are divided by their class restrictions, if they chose this route instead of making them all unrestricted; it can avoid that. Also, it gives more encouragement to level your crafters - which a lot of people do not do.

Well yes, but actually no, but still yes. Jokes aside, yeah class locked gear kinda seems silly considering you have a lot of glam gear that can be used by all classes that already makes it possible to wear full plate armor as a white mage, or you can be a school boy warrior.

I highly recommend that you test the various armor pieces for yourself to see what wonderful sets you can make, but can never wear...XD then you'll see many pieces that are just wasted due to being redundant in terms of stats. Prime Examples being the DOL/DOH sets imo.

It really is just GENUINELY insane that NEW hats still can't be worn by vieras/hrothgar. Old hats taking a while is "fine"... BUT NEW ITEMS? ?????????? Especially CASH SHOP items. Just spend money to not be allowed to wear your hat.

I randomly came across your video and I was pleasantly surprised. As a viera player since the beginning of EndWalker I've been screaming into the wind over the hat and hairstyle person placed on us. I didn't want to believe it, but it finally clicked that the devs aren't concerned with fixing such a simple issue. Everything clips in the game, that's not a valid reason and frankly it wasn't then. Hroth have it worse. Iirc they still have to pay real money for Fantasia to change something as simple and available for everyone else, hairstyles. And yes although they have been giving us free Fantasia, 1 or 2 doesnt solve the issue but instead distracting one of it because getting free fantasia is not going to be a common occurance for long.

SE is controls the purse, thus if it wants to burn 80% of the revenue it makes on a game that's going to bomb it will do just that. Why because they can always count of the players to keep paying their subs for XIV. At this point Yoshida is a bit too gutless to even try to claw out a 30% budget for CBU3 as a minimum and shown he's willing to work with a 15% budget to keep XIV operating. Compared to WoW where Blizzard lets that division maintain 80% of the total revenue...its downright criminal

With female Hrothgars there's also a whole other problem: Some gear pieces are ridiculously oversized on their arms and shoulders to a point it looks very bad. They did address that in the latest patch and fixed some gear, but there is still a ton of gear that is broken on Femhroths. Even the new Wintertide set they released with 7.1 has the huge sleeves problem. (If you google "rigging problems on female hrothgar" you should find a thread in the official forum about this with screenshots)

Charr, lion-like race with 2 protruding horns and ears, wears headwear and hairstyles just fine. Guild Wars 2 Lizard race Argonians, weird head shape, shit tons of horns all over, still can has all headwear viewable. Elder Scrolls Online. Both these MMOs have 4 dye channels btw and are over a decade old.

Hrothgar have hairstyles hardcoded to certain face designs. To change hair, you have to change face, which requires a fantasia. A playable race needs extra real life money to change hair, with still unviewable headwear, still limited hairstyles. Not even a warning when going to select this race or Viera "not all hairstyles selectable and headwear viewable" none, it's a scam since 2019.

The reason I stopped playing as a viera. Hairstyles unavailable and head gear not showing. Like sure, could just mod things, but it should be base game. Au ra sit on clipping horns while new gear gets the red words. “Unavailable for viera and hrothgar.”

I do think it’s interesting that you bring this up regarding Viera and Hrothgar and the hats issue, because I feel exactly the same every time they add a new job to the game but we lack the weapons from near to all the content prior to new jobs release. It’s a lot of work on the art team yea, but it’s the same principle. It’s not really fair when you want to do something like Ultimate Coil of Bahamut, or Weapons refrain ultimate, but the job you enjoy playing doesn’t benefit from those at all because they were just unlucky enough to not have existed yet

i actually bought shadowbringers separately back in the day specifically to play as a hroth every step of the way i feel like a second-rate citizen, especially after seeing how many hairstyles the miqote have by default

It is insulting that they continue to make more outfits that don't work for a race that people (myself included) have to pay for. It is even more insulting when you're locked out of wearing achievement items that take hours to grind; field commander helm or the chocobo helm

Honestly? I stopped playing in Endwalker once I came to the realization that we wouldn't be getting hats anytime soon. I still haven't come back. I just don't want to deal with a game that's actually taking features away from my play with no recourse.

I was just thinking about this myself. It goes even further than it being 5 years of no new commentary on it. Its the fact that i could buy new gear from the paid store and still not be able to wear the hat. That I buy a book to put on my real shelf that comes with the matoya's hat item code that i just cannot use on my main character bc he is a viera. That they are more willing to just change the hats so the viera and hrothgar can at least have the face pieces on but not the hat. It's insanely disappointing and dishonest, as they said they would finish them and they still are not finished. It doesn't matter if they arent the major playerbase, they promised to finish them and they aren't finished. Like you said its about fairness. It is not fair to see new gear have pieces that I can't even decide if I want to use or not bc it's already been decided that i cant.

It literally just doesn't make any sense at this point I guess they are just choosing not to prioritize it because they rather use the budget to make new things?? idk....btw Themis has a larger head than normal hyurs which means they remade the hairstyle to fit him which is even more insulting 🫠

The fact that the community has "fixed" this glaring issue means its not only possible but is that 100% the Dev's dont WANT to add all the helms to all races.

I hope both hroth and viera gain access to every hat available the game and they all get dual channel dyes. One thing that springs to mind though: if it was so easy to implement since day one and the demand for it is so significant then why don't we have it? There has to be an actual reason for this that isn't just the braindead "game company = lazy/greedy" take that people stamp on any developer that hasn't done what they wanted. There just has to be. Do what people told the lala's when they complained about being barred from rp events and take advantage of that free fantasia while you can I guess.

i really like your calm voice and i agree with you ^^ my main is a male viera since they came out and on pretty much every job i wear these artisan / crafter doctor looking like glasses, but just something that came to my mind, maybe you think about it maybe not, its up to you, i would show some FF14 content or at least artwork of FF14 while you talk about it instead of real bunnys and lions, even tho i like lions :D but what you show in a video is ofc completely up to you and an artistic choice. :) 👍

At the end of the day, Viera and Hrothgar are like 7% of the playerbase, and yoship doesnt give a shit what you complain about as long as you keep playing. Yoship is a piece of shit, some people just arnt ready to hear it.

ive become a game developer myself and i cant play this shit any more i love FF since FF1 but things came apparent to me that just really pains me that they didnt think about things or just dont fix them, there are literal imbeciles working at square enix, they need to get them out asap

I do recall the cash shop was a system that big SE forced on the team to appear modern. Yoshi P hated the idea and I could see that money from it and the collaborations only staying to big daddy SE so they couod invest in NFT games and other junk no one asks. If that IS true that is poor investment and does sound like big SE. But if all these odd graphics changes are all big SE ideas forced on the team it feels totally at random. Over hall all this, fix all them toes. What hats no time for that. I'm okay with the cash shop as an idea but not like this. Putting lost event items okay but gender locked, some still dye locked and even dyes on the shop no. Adding a Alexander machine as a mount yeeeeears after it came out, eh okay but it is a slippery slope isn't it?

I played well over 110 Crystalline Conflict matches for the PvP set just to not be able to use the headpiece on my Hrothgar character, I'm guessing Viera characters can't use it either which is so ridiculous. Surely the devs can fit ONE headgear to Hrothgar and Viera a day and then release them on patch day rather than completely ignoring the problem.
