i have problem front passenger door not locking with remote... all other doors lock except FP one
Best to remove the door card and see if the linkage has broken?
What new size bolts did you get to fit bar end mirrors and still be able to use weights
I thought I put that size in the video.. I'll have to check when I get chance. Thanks
I drove Vespa's and Lambretta's for 10 years and I hardly ever used the front brake. I'm not saying that was right, but I had no issues at all doing that.
I good correctly rear brake is OK and it leaves the hand to just one job. But it's not as effective as the front brake in most cases.
Great video, really helped me fititng my mirrors.
Glad it helped
Got my sat nav for my 2015 z1000sx today,my bullet connections have been used for heated grips,i cud tap into my usb but its wired straight to battery,so seen this box,now please excuse my ignorance as a newbie to wiring bikes,so this box connects direct to battery and then the sat nav/usb ect can go to 1 of the ports on the box, what im trying to figure out is if its direct powered to battery how does the accessories turn on on off with the key if box gets direct power from battery🫣be easy on me im learning😅
Dont know what happened i missed start of video, were u used piggy back fuse now makes sense used same for car dash cam,the fuse box were piggy back fuse is what did you do to stop water maybe getting in with it staying open.thanks
Ok. The box connects to the battery, but there is an extra lead to/from the box to a supply, which is only live when the ignition is turned on. You have to find that supply. This basically turns the box o, which then powers up whatever is connected to it. I hope that makes sense.
Thanks all sorted, piggy backed off the heated grips on the bullet connecters with inline fuse so all good now👍
excellent! cheers
Wow magic,I met a lady called jean in Tenby in the late 80’s,what a great place.
We love Tenby, go every year for the Iron Man event so always wanted to go to the Scooter event there and finally managed to!
Tony can you get software to remap a gp 300s or even upgrade kit having issues with flat spots and actually stopping
Yes, I've got the Full Tasso Works kit and it is very good. Search my channel for the series of fitting and review.
I have an sf exhaust fitted … how much is the Tasso remap kit/sofyware
For the latest prices you are best to google Tassoworks .... www.tassoworks.co.uk/cgi-bin/store.pl?action=search&uid=300345&category=60
How do I get the lower radiator hose out to put a new one in on this , without taking the whole car apart
sorry, I've sold the car, so can't help you on this one. Hopefully someone will comment on this post or try searching UA-cam again. Good luck
Thank you, I have finally managed to set the time and date on my F-type after watching this.
Glad it helped!
0-10 scale please rate each in ride quality. Thx
Hard to do as each car excels in different ways and what you determine as ride quality. The jaguar is a better all round car, although I toured Europe in the Evora recently and it was brilliant. So, for comfort and all round usability go for the Jaguar, If twisty country lanes and track days are your thing the Evora takes it. I'd probably score them both equal, maybe a 9 each LOL. Both fantastic cars!
Thanks, I’m considering chopping my GTS300 for a RA300, always hated the styling, I’m off to Italy next year and planning on taking scooter on back of my Crafter campervan so was considering the Hydra trail which is what brought me to your page. I’ve got a proper Lambretta like you (LI150 special) which I’ve used for rallies for last 12 years but reliability is an issue, especially miles away on holiday in Italy, as well as the risk of theft. Nice to see a fellow scooter boy KTF.
That will be brilliant!
Cheap (4$) Step up converter (set to 12V) and a diode works too :) Step up input to ignition power , and out through a diode to main power of radio. ( together with normal power +12)
If the sliders are tight that defo will affect acceleration won't it, I noticed in your post when you installed them that you mentioned that they were a bit tight
Good point, yes, it would. They weren't too bad in the end and possibly would wear in??? I went back to rollers in the end though.
What bike wheelbase length will it accept?
You'd be best goggling that as I've now sold it, so unfortunately, I can't give you an answer.
Well sorted now mate, enjoy
Cheers
Styling of the RA is spot on for those of us who love the Lammy as opposed to the Vespas, but need a little bit more tech or like me cannot afford a sorted original... Love the colour as well
Thanks, had a lammy at the same time....but recently sold it as the missus didn't feel comfortable on the back.
Cheers Tony, is your screen Black or dark smoke mate..
It's black. Works well with the black logos etc.
Nice camera work Tony and a good mod, where did you get all the chrome trim from mate, I think it's a great look
Just sticky back trim off Ebay. Cheap and easy lol
A great choice Tony, I think it goes with the period and is very well made
The 35l is surprisingly big!
Great addition to any scooter, on my shopping list with the back rack and screen like yours
Good choice!
Nice one mate, that saves me a job of having a look see
Glad I could help
Sounds sweet and the improvement is impressive.
Cheers for the comment 🍻
Nice post, Bike looks great
Thanks 👍
Nice one, could never understand why RA missed this off the Digi Dash. I like the mirrors what make are they mate
They are Cornwall extended mirrors
Another great post, Learnt loads with the superb camera work as well, spot on
Thanks, your comments are very much appreciated 👍
Great post, I am getting a syringe, Like the Tasso exhaust, can I fit just the exhaust only or do I need to get other bits changed as well on a 300? Also will it free up my GP125AC
😆 syringe is brilliant! The exhaust won't make any noticeable difference to performance, but it will sound sweeter!
Great post, I learnt a lot about my RA body work and wiring cheers. I am going to wait before I get some heated grips for my GP125AC as I am seriously thinking of getting the GP300LC, I just need to get to about 1200 miles on it to see if it loosens up and gives me a little bit more performance as it seems way slower than the advertised stats, at the moment I cant even hold 50mph on most flattish roads
50mph real gps speed is about right.. should show about 55 on the dash. Good luck... 300cc is a big improvement
There`s a bloke with an AJS on another channel bought a cheap wrist watch and wrapped it round the handle bars , thought that was pretty clever , just as an aside I thought my RA had a clock lol
😄..yep..I've done that myself on motorbikes in the past 👍
Nice clear post, thanks for the info mate
No problem 👍
Great entertaining post, well put together thanks, The bike looks great mate....
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers
Nice informative post, I have got the GP125AC and after a long run going on Major A roads and dual carriageways I realised that I need the same model in the 300, as I love the bike and the look
They are great looking Scooters aren't they! and the standard 300 is more than enough tbh. Thanks for dropping on by!
Tony - great video - just wondering is it the flap and that mechanism that's stuck on your video or the actual vacuum cylinder/actuator?
It was the flap I think.
Nice video, thanks for doing this. My non-drill front crash bars are arriving today and it is so useful to see how to fit them in advance. Drilling holes in the legshield is rather daunting but seeing it done gives me confidence and the fact that they are hidden under the rubber strips helps.
Good luck and its great you are doing it yourself!
Thanks I'll send to my dealer as my new RA is as stiff as a coalminers ****!
yep, common problem! They should all be redone under a warranty call back, free of charge!
@@TonysGarage_UK They say they will loosen the bearing and grease - let's see!
@@TonysGarage_UK You advise grease or replace? They are taking the bike back to "lossen" the nut and put some grease on the bearing. I'd say it's verging on the dangerous.
Mine was quite new and just needed regreasing as I caught it early. They should have a good look at the bearings first.
@@TonysGarage_UK@TonysGarage_UK Thanks - I have only done 27 kilos. LOL. They will regrease before I continue - it's dangerous, I think.
Great video did you have any trouble with the fuel gauge after fitting the clutch leaver apparently some leavers give trouble. I have the same bike as you and would like to put leavers on can you recall where you got yours or the brand name thanks
Not at all.. can't see how a lever could affect that? Not sure about the make...it was a while ago now... possibly lextek?
How did they compare to ride? I'm also finding the stock screen too noisy
I went back to the black screen in the end although I do think the touring screen's extra height did gave a benefit in wind noise and weather protection.
My first car an Escort Mk1 failed the first MOT I put it through because the Track Rod End had had it , in 1986 . To this day I had no idea what one looked like 😜
LOL, not many do.. and these don't look like a normal ball joint either!
Do not try and thread the inner onto the outer tie rod while it is in the knuckle you will shear the threads and potentially give yourself more work .INSTEAD Remove the outer tie rod from the knuckle(IF you're struggling REMOVING THE OUTER TIE ROD get a Ball Joint Separator i have one from amazon OEM Tools cost me about 40$ but the GEARWRENCH Ball Joint Separator - 3916D is near that price as well. this will help you with any ball joint that is giving you trouble. trust me you NEED this tool) Then count how many times it has spun to come off the inner. (in my case it was 21) then remove the inner tie rod. put the new inner on, thread the outer tie rod onto your inner "21" times then put the outer tie rod into the knuckle and tighten it down. job done so long as your alignment was correct before hand if not you'll need to get her aligned
Good advice, I actually tried my ball joint separator but it actually wasn't big enough! Yes, counting the turns or measuring distances are good alternatives to marking the locking nut. Thanks for that.
My local Constabulary said a few years ago that they would not fine anybody doing 35mph or less in a 30 zone , so by my reckoning I could get away with doing `38` on my TG125 😜
😆
Lot easier than the first time!
Tony. What video did you do re the electrical accessories box? I bought a box after seeing your video but now I can't seem to locate it. 😮
I've done 2 now.. one is in the kawasaki playlist... the royal alloy video used a relay and a fuse box. The new idea is just a fuse box with built-in relay making it much simpler
ua-cam.com/video/RxgOzG5O9-g/v-deo.htmlsi=1f5rSE29Z8_zSZtC
Thanks for posting Tony. Had the wife on the back today and way to soft on rear suspension. So going to have to firm her up. The scoot not the wife that is😂
I mainly do 2 up now ... looking at upgrading the shocks next as the standards ones aren't very good.
Yes agreed.
Hi can you use this in Europe
Good question.. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't see why not. I've seen plenty at the ferry ports before.
That Jag is beautiful , if only I had a few more quid
It isn't it! I had the V6 version previously but maybe the V8 will be my next car!
What is the number / size for oil filter cup opener ?
Not sure, I used a 30mm spanner as mentioned in the video. I didn't use a filter cup as you'd probably need to remove the exhaust to use one.
Hi, not related to the panniers, but the top box mounting plate. Is that something you have fitted to the triumph plate amended for Givi fitting? I have foolishly purchased a Givi Trekker thinking it would be the same fitment as the Triumph one. Sadly not - the pins are in different places.
I believe you can buy a fitting kit of pins etc to convert base plates too.
@@TonysGarage_UK I've been looking, and think I've found what I need. Can possibly move the existing lock, too.
Good news!
@@TonysGarage_UK Just to confirm for anyone else that might read the comments, I used the existing mounting pins, just drilled new holes 2cm further back and fastened them in there. Works a treat.
Superb looking van 😎👍
Thanks 👍
Tony. Did you dip the stick in without screwing it? Is the oil level suppose to read high without screwing it all the way in?
Good question.. my manual said, "Don't screw it in". Other models.. ie the 125 or 200cc .. might say to screw in. Either way.. using a Syringe means you know how much to put in. So I guess the answer is check your handbook to be sure.
Brilliant knowledge and content as always. Be young. Be foolish. Be happy. 🛵🏁🎯 Ride safe. Cheers Tony!
Absolutely... cheers for stopping by and leaving a comment. Really appreciated.
