Should never run because depending on surgery its never as good as the original. People will go out thinking they are as good as new, then a couple years later there back again with the same problem but this time the surgery could be twice as hard or even impossible.

I've had many surgeries, they always undersell so any result is a positive for you. They don't want to overstate the potential in case you don't heal properly and start causing problems for them.
