Building The Foundation to Walk Again: Dynamic Balance with Quadruped Exercise
Welcome back to the NeuroFit360 UA-cam Channel with Dr. Guy Romain, PT, DPT.
Today we will learn Dynamic Balance with the Quadruped Exercise. This movement is a progression of the Static Quadruped Exercise that we learned last month. You start laying on your stomach. Push up using hands and knees to all fours. This is a movement from the stomach to the hands and knees. From this position, you can practice moving objects to build balance and core stability.
This exercise will improve your body awareness and sensory movements. I suggest that my clients perform this exercise daily as it can easily be preformed at home. Practice holding perfect alignment while alternating between static and dynamic movements.
The purpose of these videos are to provide you with an opportunity to continue your recovery training from home. If you are looking for instruction on a specific exercise let me know in the comments below!

NeuroFit360 exists to challenge the status quo. Our mission is to use skilled physical therapy interventions to push the boundaries of preconceived notions towards physical abilities after severe neurological injury.
In 2009, Dr Guy Romain, PT, DPT realized there was a need that had to be fulfilled. Clients in traditional rehabilitation had nowhere to go after being discharged from the hospital and outpatient care. After years of helping people after spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, and more; Dr Romain realized he had to fill this gap in rehabilitative care.

Hey, may I ask you what is the purpose of the weights at the ankle? more resistance or more stability? Thanks
I had them on. For both. Tighten,as strengthen calf muscles and to ground you to make you walk stable. To slow your legs Down. To not make accidental movements. Slow and steady.
Where are you located?
