This channel is for all things music , Working on instruments, playing and singing, whatever. I wanted an outlet for stuff that is not related directly to Longcreek. I'm gonna put that stuff here, and I will be starting with building a new bass guitar. I also have some repair work here, and possibly other things that interest me. Everything I do here is just my own way of doing things, there is no education or formal training involved. I'm not an authority, only an enthusiast. Lyx Pro Review and Setup
This is a review and quick setup of a Lyx Pro Tele style guitar. It's available from Amazon for less than $100. I'm no expert on any of this, I just know what I like, and I'll tell you what I think about it. I will also spend a few minutes setting the action and intonation on this instrument. Here's a link.

Output Jack Problem on an Electric Guitar

The output jack seemed to have a problem on this guitar. It belongs to Rodney, Lead Guitar for Longcreek. There was some intermittent drop out and moving the cable around would make the output go in and out. I take a look to see if I can help.

First time putting strings an the bass, rough adjustment of bridge height, and first tuning. I use Ernie Ball Super Slinky Roundwounds (not a sponsor) in a 40-125 size set. No particular reason for those, but they are easy to find, not too expensive (about $25 a set), and seem to feel and perform fine. These would be considered "light gauge" strings for a 5 string bass.
