    This would actually make the job of dragging line on a pour even harder. Learn to embrace the kick and use it to your advantage.

    Im looking into investing in a pump and before i saw this i thought in my head 3 ram or discharge whatever u want to call it is best.... constant flow ... reduces pressure spikes. Am i right by saying this

    Its a fantastic idea, and truly a marvel of engineering. But, we all know the less valves and stuff to break on a pump the better.

    You will piss finishers off in Los Angeles with this slow pump run 2.5 inch line with big rock plus the pump needs to be at least 70 yards an hour this pump is slow but good for under one load jobs i run a OLINPUMP ITS all about FAST

  • @10-10-

    Run 2.5 inch hose with big rock all day long no problem just pay attention ..

    If only it was faster. I run a transcrete p80 and that deck would have been poured in 5 minutes. Do love the no kick though, just need more speed.

    This was the intent of the original patent applicant of what he also called the "Y" valve. The applicant passed away before attaining the patent. It looked like a Rock Valve but flipped over and used on a machine with 3 material cylinders. According to patent records, Schwing scooped up the idea & info and patented their ®Rock Valve. I've always wondered if the changed flow direction was intentional or discovered accidentally.

    it think there is a accumulator incorporated in the circuit.. by which they are achieving continuous water flow (output)

    • @ravj4741
      @ravj4741 8 років тому

      There is always at least one accumulator present in such a high power circuit, but that only gives a constant performance of the hydraulic fluid, not impact material flow cycle itself. Here the way continuous flow is achieved is purely mechanical, by modifying the rock valve design and the shift timing. And it's concrete, not water, that is why it's a big deal.

    I pump concrete every day and this would help so much. I could pump faster and not wear out my hoses rubbing from the constant surge. Plus the constant pulling of hoses back and tying them down. I run a 5" to 3" reducing elbow with a 6" cylinder. When I clean up, the concrete in the 5" part of my reducing elbow is always hard to the size of the 3" outlet. Therefore I don't think it would matter if the opening in your wear plate is the same as the diameter of the cylinder. It could be smaller and not matter too much. How about reverse?

    Hey guys, very interested in this. What exactly will be on offer? Just the valve? whole pump? modification kit? I am very interested in this for the safety aspect. Do mainly residential job in tight spots, but concrete roofs on, sometimes on 2nd and even 3rd floor. So pump surge is a massive concern for the hose guys. I might very well be your first customer.

    Yes this proof-of-concept is a modified Schwing 750-18 Rock Valve. Excited to bring this technology to our industry for line pumps, shotcrete and Boom pumps! Thanks for your encouragement!

    This is seriously so cool. Safer for hose handler and one of the biggest innovations in concrete pumping in recent years. What pump are you using btw? Looks like you have a modified rock valve, is that a schwing?
