These are answers to questions I had before applying to UK unis, which weren't answered all in one in any videos I found, so I made one myself! Also, youtube was being annoying with time limits, so some of the clips are sped up to 1.25x with the pitch preserved if any of the audio sounds funky, that's why! I will study at the ...

Few suggestions: Speak a bit louder cuz it's hard to hear you in this video 😅 Secondly Try to change locations while talking/telling story. this engages people more. I would love to edit your next video and maybe work with you by managing your social media and editing your videos on a monthly basis. I'll drop you an email. Lemme know what you think of it :) P.S Keep making content regularly 😇

    • @madigraham04
      @madigraham04 Рік тому

      if i’m being entirely honest it looks quite far out. It’s not unheard of as obviously people do live there but it will likely be quite annoying socially as it is a ways away from getting into the city and also if you want friends over it’ll be far from their accommodations. I wasn’t aware there was a Uni one so far, but it looks like it would be 45 minutes to an hour commute unless there is a direct bus… you can try and email the uni and see if it can be changed or you can look into private housing should u wish to change it!

    Which halls do you think have the best social life?

    • @madigraham04
      @madigraham04 Рік тому

      it sort of depends on what type of social life you mean. near every hall has a group chat you can find on facebook pages or freshers group chats to help you find others living there and maybe your flat mates. I found that these group chats often esp sem1 had people asking if anyone was hosting a pres on different nights out usually friday and saturday but other days as well, so all of them will have something similar to that. otherwise RA’s do try and host things at all the halls but i never went to any of those events. pollock is probably best for connectivity and like organically meeting people in your hall simply because of the dining experience, you’re more likely to meet people that way. otherwise it’s super easy during the first two or three weeks to make friends with literally anyone you see in your hall, i made friends w people in line waiting for keys collection and in the elevator, everyone is just as keen to meet people as you are so it’s really easy. not sure if that totally helps lmk if you have any other questions!

      @@nameunimportant1073so with pres you will easily find friends who will buy for you or random people that you haven't met, often w the welcome week pres at the halls its communal so u could def drink there but you wont be able to go clubbing. Ill be honest its not gonna be the end of the world at all because my friends and I went out to the clubs maybe once in the first week, unless who you meet are big on clubbing it should be totally fine! most of the stuff we did was during the day and after such long days lots of people wont want to go to the clubs when they are so packed so don't stress it too too much! also there are quite a lot of 17 year olds so do not be super concerned!

      Hi! my gpa was a 3.65 unweighted and 4.2 (I think) weighted. I got a 29 as my highest overall act score but my superstore was a 31. For ap's all they asked of me was a 4 on English lit, which is the score I ended up getting. other Ap's I took and their scores are the following: Euro 2 (was the 2020 test cycle), Psych 5, Lang 3, Spanish Lang 3, Bio (didn't take test just the class 2021 cycle). I took the following my senior year and thus didn't have the scores for these when I applied: Lit 4, World history 4, Spanish Lit 4, Gov 4. You definitely do not need like Ivy level grades or anything to be able to get an offer and the highest they will likely ask for an ap score for humanities degrees is a 45 on lit. if you are interested in science degrees they usually want a 4 or a 5 on Calc AB and generally a 4 on any of the applied sciences like chem, physics 1 and c, bio. LMK if you want any other advice for applying or questions I can use in a new video!

      @@jedinetwork9985 in my experience at least w history they still want a 4 on AP English lit even tho it’s history (lowkey makes no sense but for most humanities at least when I applied they want English lit 4 regardless of degree it may have change since though bc that was 2022)
