Where’s the slum area? It looked better than the city I’m living now. And I thought I’m living in a nice place. I think this guy was just telling us how great Japan is.

An American female blogger showed us the real slums in Japan near the river. Sad situation because if it gets typhoon their slum houses surely get wipe out. Maybe, you have not really gone to those real slums. The American blogger able to capture the huypocricy of the Japanese government ang their in human treatment of their citizens. Maybe you should watch her account in UA-cam because you failed by comparison. You simply do not want the world to know how Japanese government failed to attend their senior homeless citizens.

a lot of people in the comments complaining that the slums he showed in Japan are not slums lol. you need to understand that this is considered slum to them. yes, it's different from your countries, but it's their slum. appreciate the difference, don't get defensive. just because you're poor and homeless doesn't mean you have to do drugs or be dirty. there are homeless people sleeping in makeshift tents and cardboard boxes in Japan. but they're not lazy or dirty like the typical image we have of a homeless person. they'd tidy up their areas first thing in the morning and then go to work or school or hangout. they'll pull out their boxes and find a place to sleep late in the night when there's no one around. that's why you rarely see them. they don't hang around on the streets looking like zombies in broad daylight like in your countries. they're almost invincible. but these days I heard there's a rise in runaway teenagers being homeless and living on the street, which has become quite a problem in Japan especially Tokyo.

@7:40 That's a Toyota Century, aka 'the Rolls Royce of Japan'. Being a petrol head, I always get annoyed when I see a Japanese person who's not very knowledgeable about their own automotive culture. It's so rich and interesting!

video time 12:44 you will see a couch and a white box behind the couch. That white box is a steam heater. Only the most expensive foreign owned houses had steam heating. First and second houses we lived in used kerosene heaters, the 3rd house in Asahi-Dai had a steam heating.

Everywhere you showed in this video I have been to many, many times. Gigean Bochi (Foreign Cemetery) we lived across the street. Either side of the cemetery is a walk way to Motomachi. Part of the cemetery also has a Japanese style archery range at the bottom is a swimming pool. The grocery store in the center of Motomachi was there in 1965 when I was there, the only local place you could get foreign food. Yokohama International School (YIS) has now moved to a new location, 5th and 6th grade there. I have spent many hours at the park by the diplomats house. Beautiful. YCAC, YYC

I've seen some videos where japanese people complain that Japan is too strict. Although this might be true from their perspective, I guess most of them never were abroad. People would definitely see things a bit different and would much more appreciate the good side of things in Japan if they had this kind of comparison to other countries. There is no perfect place, but japanese people doing a damn good job here in keeping japan unique and beautiful.
