This is a short video of Morgan Creek, the one James Taylor immortalized in his song "Coppermine." Ordinarily just a trickle coming out of University (UNC) Lake, here is rushing along, over its banks, all thanks to our unusual El Nino winter. Temperature right about 70 degrees as this was taken on December 23, 2015.

Two years, three months after pulling a lifeless, mess of a tractor out of the woods, it made its first trip out of the garage. The trip went better than expected, as the driver was able to get the tractor to do a trick. Watch for the part where the Pony drives on its side. This engine test was conducted to determine if measures taken to stop leaking head bolts were effective. It took two tries to get the engine started, and then it ran until it stalled out due to low idle speed. No leaking detected from the headbolts during the test. However, toward the end of the test, oil was observed leaking from the goesouta on the oil filter cannister. More later.

Thanks Murray. I haven't viewed that in a while myself. Those were some great years. So many times I thought, "Well that's it, I'll never get this thing to run, but learned along the way that there is always a way." Terry, I'm not sure. It sounds like the throttle rod is either disconnected or it's movement is being restricted somehow. Try sending your question to the on-line discussion forum at YesterdaysTractors.com. Each tractor brand has it's own section. Good luck.
I have a '48 Pony I'm working on and I can't get it to rev up. I put a new carburetor kit in it and examined the governor. It will rev up if I open the butterfly by hand but not buy the throttle. It will run at idle just fine. Any suggestions ?
Sounds like HT leads are connected wrong, it should fire 1342, normally if it knockes like this its firing order
