Randomly happened upon this gorgeous loco on a drive to Mt St Helens..... Polson Logging Company 70 is a 70-ton 2-8-2 "Mikado" type steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1922 for the Polson Logging in Hoquiam, WA. The locomotive spent years working on the Polson Logging railroad hauling log trains.

My special needs son loves trains 🚆🛤🚟🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋 especially steam locomotives like that one! He says he heard from a man named Steve Poole say when a steam engine gets underway it looks and sounds like nothing else that is why many people love them even though they are said pretty old.

This is the Polson Logging Co. #70. #70 was ordered new in 1922 from Baldwin and built to the same plans as #2. The #70 is currently owned by the Mt Rainier Scenic railroad. The Polson #2 is currently owned by the Albany and Eastern Railroad and on loan to the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation in Portland, OR.
It even has 70 on the side!! Im an idiot.....still, hope you liked and thanks for the correction.

Loved this video - was so cool to see all the different liveries on display - not just the Vietnam and Norwegian in the background, but also at takeoff: 0:02 pushback and ground ops staff - I am sure for these guys it never gets old! 10:40 that front on shot is awesome 13:23 turning to line up and takeoff
