@DAVYMAC that is a good team, no doubt about it. But, the teams you have beaten in the state finals would be considered average teams in Texas. I played football in both Ohio and Texas. There is stiffer competition here and if nothing else, it might get the flyers from exercise.

@charlesshankle3178 Dear Charles I also lived in Texas. Lubbock. And I am fully aware that Texas has some of the BEST high school football. So does Florida (slightly overrated) and California and Pennsylvania. Ohio ALSO has great high school football. Ohio has a smaller area than Texas and smaller population than Texas. Considering our size and population Ohio MORE THAN HOLDS IT'S OWN AND ACTUALLY OVERACHIEVES THE OTHER STATES THAT I MENTIONED. Did you not see the Kirk Herbstreit (Ohio) vs the world games that were played several years ago? If you did then you would not have went on the internet and taken an ass-showing shot at a well deserved program that deserves to be praised. I don't live near Marion Local nor have I ever attended any of their games. I don't know or have any relatives that attended Marion Local. One example of Ohio football accomplishment was our all-white Centerville Elks traveled down to Florida to play national power Miami Northwestern (all black) football team. Centerville 35 - Miami Northwestern 0. Crowley Texas has an outstanding RB. How do I know that? Because I get EVERY Texas high school UIL Championship game. And some regular season games and some of the playoff games that precede the UIL Championship games. We in Ohio never claimed to have the best high school football or basketball or football teams, but we won't stand for the braggadocio disparaging remarks you made!

@DAVYMAC I am aware of the herbstreit challenge BTW. I am aware of Centerville beating Miami Northwestern. Yes, Ohio more than holds its own. Marion having such a record of dominance indicates the need for other teams to play them. If nothing else so their players learn a little more about themselves. Don't worry, Aledo a record setting program in regards to state titles went up a division to highest classification and had played out of state competition. Yes, the results were mixed. I would love to see Maria Stein Marion do similar things. I would certainly watch it. You likely would too

@charlesshankle3178 Once again you showed your ass. Marion Local plays higher division teams. Coldwater is another great football team that plays in a higher division than Marion Local. Final score Marion Local 35 - Coldwater 0. Coldwater also won the State Title THIS YEAR 2024 in a higher division by the score of 31-7. In that Herbstreit challenge, Ohio teams often beat the teams from other powerhouse states. Often that Ohio team went on to finish their season with (example) with a losing record or 6 wins and 5 losses (example) and the team from the other states went on to WIN their state championship title or they would finish with a great record 9-2 or 11-1 etc. Charles you stepped into your own excrement AGAIN! 100% agree. It would be a bit of an advantage for Columbus area teams but the Old Crew Stadium is perfect for this. 2 or 2 1/2 drive at most for any team in Ohio. If the Stadium became the annual destination, they could add some High HOF area in the retail area inside.

@ Calm down, Nathan - it was a compliment. On the Yappi forum all the talk was that Perkins was going to blow out IV, IV had a weak schedule and couldn’t compete, the real DIV championship was played the week before against Glenville, etc. - even the prediction ratings (Pasteur) had Perkins winning by a considerable amount. I love it when tough-nosed kids from schools like IV prove everyone wrong.

There's no recruiting at Marion or any other schools in the MAC conference. All the kids in those small villages go Marion and always have. I grew up in Chickasaw and graduated from Marion Local on 1984.
